Tonight was a huge surprise for me, in terms of the happenings of the Invisible Children showing.
As I was working, my co-worker told me I had a friend that had stopped by to talk to me. I didn't recognize the girl, but apparently she had something to talk to me about. As it turns out, she is a huge supporter of Invisible Children as well, and wanted to help out with the showing on the 5th. I told her she was more than welcome to come help to set up, as I did still need a bit of help getting everything together that night. She also took flyers and decided to help out in posting them around campus at USC.
Maybe an hour later, two girls came downstairs, and one of them asked me if Clay was working tonight. After making a dumb joke about going to find him, I told them who I was, and they told me they were the two in charge of the Global Night Commute in Columbia, and wanted to know a bit about the showing on the 5th, and if I would be mentioning the Night Commute that night. I told them it would be great to have them come and speak that night, and so they agreed to come by and speak a bit about the cause.
In two hours' time tonight, I've seen how God can bring people together for things, and any doubt I had about His ability to bring people to one location for a cause vanished. I know now that God, in His infinite, perfect knowledge of us, and the world, can most certainly have us together to help others in the name of Christ.
And what an astounding thing it is to be performing for such a worthy and amazing God.
