I first created a website at Geocities back in 2000. I originally used Geocities' PageBuilder program. Since then I have taught myself how to write HTML. I also created two new websites: David's Guide to Taiwan and David's Guide to Fujian & China. This lead me to neglect to maintain the original website. As the original website was also a bit messy I decided to start again and create something new.
I have built this page using HTML at its simplest. All the pages on this website should download very quickly and display in any browser. I have rewritten some of the pages from the old website as some of them still get a few hits from Google and Yahoo. I have also added a few new pages of stuff that I have written over the last few years. This website is not very focused on a particular topic, but if you happen to find your way here I hope you can find some useful or interesting information. If you spot any broken links or have any comments about this website please e-mail me. If you want to know a bit more about me please click here.
The teaching English and studying Chinese in Taiwan page has been replaced by two new pages on my other website (David's Guide to Taiwan). I replaced the information about teaching in Taiwan with my thoughts about TEFL/TESOL certification and some general information about teaching English in Asia. The Buddhism links have been sorted into categories to make them easier to navigate.
There are three of the articles are somehow related to city planning and urban transport issues, while another two are short articles about life in Taiwan. I hope you enjoy(ed) reading them.
There are ads for World Nomads travel insurance, books from Amazon.com and an e-book Teach in Japan on this site. If you purchase the products via these links I will get a commission.
