"Tombstone" Drinking Game

Subject: Drinking Game

I have a drinking game for the movie "Tombstone".   Good buzz factor.
Does not require anything complex. The point of the game is to keep up
with Doc Holiday. Everytime Doc Holiday (Val Kilmer) takes a shot, you
must also. Sounds pretty easy, but Doc Holiday drinks quite a few shots(
about 10) in the span of two hours, many of them doubles. At one point
Doc has three or four shots back to back. Participants have the option
of doing double shots if Doc does a double shot, but this would be
pretty tough. If you can keep up with Doc, you will enjoy yourself a lot
more after the movie.

Your list of drinking games kicked ass! I liked the Winnie-the-Pooh one,
that was neat. I would like to make a suggestion for a drinking game.
How 'bout a 'Touched By An Angel' Drinking game- I know it sounds sick,
but it would be good for a laugh. Here are some suggestions:
                                     TAKE ONE SIP IF........
                          Tess makes a reference to Miss Wings, Angel
Boy, Honey Child, Angel Girl etc.
                          Tess is wearing her hair like Pepe Le Pew.
                          Monica has the white light on her shoulders,
and is saying God Loves You!!
                          Monica says: But I don't understand Tess.
                          Every time Andrew takes someone off to die,
and says "you don't have to be afraid".
                                                       TAKE TWO SIPS
IF.....
                         The devil sends one his 'satan's little
helpers' to defeat Monica and Tess.

does not conquer all. So let's do this thing."

Instructions:
Gather friends (if applicable) around TV set. Place drinks, alcoholic or not, within easy reach. 
Watch any Kevin Spacey movies you can get your hands on, drinking when instructed to by the 
following rules. In case of confusion over whether or not to drink, always err on the side of 
drinking. As Kevin Spacey said in his Oscar acceptance speech, "Well, whoever Keyzer Soze is, 
I can tell you he's going to get gloriously drunk tonight." J

The rules are simple. You get a drink, doesn't matter what (but don't forget, if you're 
looking to get drunk, it must contain alcohol) and take a sip as specified by the rules 
below. Enjoy!!
BACKGROUND INFO:
I've seen this movie a million times, so I am very familiar with everyone in it, and will 
probably interchange first and last names to refer to characters. In case you're not so 
familiar, here's some background.
Johnny Hooker/Kelly is Robert Redford. He would be the blonde, attractive one. You know, 
the main character.
Henry Gondorff/Shaw is Paul Newman. He would be the older, attractive one.
Billie is the dark-haired woman who runs the "house" where Henry lives, played by Eileen 
Brennan.
Joe Erie is the guy who pulls the hit with Luther and Johnny, with the moustache.
J.J. is the guy who calls the horse race from the back room.
Kid Twist (Twist) is the white-haired guy with the moustache who sets everything up. He 
also plays the telegraph store guy for the Wire when Lonnegan demands to see it.
Doyle Lonnegan is played by Robert Shaw. He's the Irish guy with all the money.
Floyd is Lonnegan's crony, with the flat nose, who always smirks at Hooker, and everything else.
Duke is the guy whose bar Twist goes to, to get guys to play for the Wire.
Snyder is a bunko (cop) who enjoys chasing, torturing, and trying to catch Hooker up to no good.
Loretta is the woman at the diner, with the dark curly hair.
Agent Polk is the FBI agent who sends for Snyder. He is played by Dana Elcar, and that's a 
clue for later. :)

		DRINK EVERY TIME:

	*Johnny Hooker smiles or laughs.
	*Joe Erie is called either "Joe" or "Erie".
	*Hooker says, "Jake", twice if he says that everything is jake.
	*Hooker or Gondorff swears. Anything remotely bad counts.

Unless otherwise noted, all rules-drinks are 1 drink (or sip).

Before the movie starts, participants pick from one of the following minor 
characters (or sets of characters), either randomly or otherwise.  You should 
drink every time your character/s has/have a line.  Exceptions are noted in 
parentheses.
- Father Lonergan (except when he’s fishing)
- The Reverend and Mrs. Playfair (except the scene in the Playfair’s parlor)
- Sarah, the widow Tillane
- Forbes and Owen Glynn, the two IRA gentlemen
- Feeney, Danaher’s yes-man
- Dan Tobin, the old bearded man (whenever he speaks or is seen—just ‘cause 
	he’s so damned cool)


General Rules:
- whenever a character drinks, you drink; 2 drinks whenever anyone is noticeably 
	or pronounced drunk
- whenever someone refers to a pub (or a bar or saloon—guess who calls it that)
- whenever someone is fishing or talking about fishing

- whenever someone comments on the socio-cultural disparity between America/

Participatory Rules:
Whichever participant chimes in (in your best Irish brogue, of course; except 
for the last two rules, which should be done in Brooklyn-ese) last with the 
accompanying phrase when the following events occur has to drink:
- whenever you see a cross, someone crosses themselves, you can hear a church bell, 
	or someone curses or almost curses: “Saints preserve us!”
- whenever someone buys a round or drinks are on the house: “To Saint Patrick!” 
	(if it’s on the day itself, though any good Irish toast’ll do; but remember, 
	everyone still has to drink whenever any of the characters drink; so the slow 
	poke just has to drink one more than the rest)
- whenever there’s a veiled or direct reference to the IRA: “Fenian!”

- whenever someone calls Sean a “Yankee”: “Go Yankees!”
- whenever someone calls Sean a “Yank”: “Yank this, mick!” (participants can —- and 
	will -— insert explicatives according to their their discretion/desire)


John Wayne / “Sean Thornton” Rules:
- whenever he lights a cigarette
- whenever The Duke does his swagger
- whenever someone mentions a member of Sean’s family or his home town (Pittsburgh)
- whenever he acts rough with Mary/Maureen: all male participants: 3 drinks


Maureen O’Hara / “Mary Kate Danaher” Rules:
- whenever someone says her full name, “Mary Kate Danaher”
- whenever she threatens or acts out violence
- whenever someone refers to her in a derogatory manner, e.g. “spinster”, 
	“hussy”, or “woman” (you know the tone)
- whenever some mention/link is made of/between her red hair and her temper 
	(which should be accompanied by a knowing, “Aye,” and a nod of the head 
	by all participants)
- whenever she denies Sean his “privileges as a husband”: all female 
	participants: 2 drinks


“Michaleen Flynn” Rules:
- whenever he acts like a prude
- whenever he says “patty fingers”
- whenever he’s acting in his official capacity as a Marriage Broker 
	(one drink per scene)
- whenever he calls something “Homeric”
- whenever he complains about being thirsty or about his dry throat, all 
	participants do the same and take 3 quick drinks

 
The lightning round:
At the climax of the film, when Sean and Danaher fight, all participants take 
the side of either one of the combatants—a random determination, either by 
coin-toss or names in a hat, or something, is recommended (and pray you don’t 
get Danaher).

The denouement:
- when the Reverend Playfair and the Bishop go by the crowd in the car, all 
	participants baptized Catholic (or, additionally/alternatively, anyone 
	non-Christian-Protestant) drink 3 times
- when your chosen/assigned character is featured in the last segment, toast 
	him/her/them in the manner you see fit, in your best Irish brogue, of course.  
	(The video can/will be paused to allow for maximum eloquence)


And...
If you really want to give all you’ve got to The Cause (that is, you want to get 
absolutely and disgustingly drunk), add the following 1-drink rules:
- whenever someone says ”Inisfree”
- whenever you see someone smoking a pipe (1 drink per smoker per scene or 
	shot, depending on your level of masochism)
- whenever you see a horse (1 drink per horse per shot or scene; again, depending...)
