October 19 Chicago Packers, under ownership of Dave Trage, play the franchise's first NBA game, losing to New York, 120-103.
October 27 Franchise earns it first win, vs. St. Louis, 117, 106.

1962
October 7 Team renamed Chicago Zephyrs.

1963
September 6 Don Nelson sold to Los Angeles.
March 25 Franchise moves to Baltimore, with Dave Trage retaining principle ownership.
June 4 Team renamed the Baltimore Bullets.

1964
June 9 Bailey Howell, Don Ohl, Bob Ferry, and the rights to rookies Wally Jones and Les Hunter acquired for Terry Dischinger, Rod Thorn, and Don Kojis.
August 8 Buddy Jeannette replaced Bob Leonard as coach.
October 24 Abe Pollin, Arnold Heft, and Earl Foreman purchase club for $1.1 million, a then-record amount for an NBA Franchise.

December 2 Capital Centre Opened to sellout crowd of 17,500, the then-largest ever crowd to watch a basketball game in Maryland.

May 28 Dick Motta replaced K.C. Jones as head coach.

February 13 Elvin Hayes and Phil Chenier represent the Eastern Conference in the All-Star Game in Milwaukee.
March 5 Wes Unseld becomes the 13th player in NBA history to grab 10,000 rebounds.

June 7 Bullets defeat Seattle to claim the 1978 NBA World Championship.
December 13 Elvin Hayes scores his 20,000th career point in a 134-117 victory over San Diego.

February 4 Dick Motta coaches in his first NBA All-Star Game; Elvin Hayes and Bobby Dandridge also represent the Bullets in the game.
April 1 Dick Motta wins his 500th career game as Bullets defeat Denver.

May 15 Wizards release new logos and colors.
July 11 Wizards release new uniforms and courtside apparel.
November 29 Wizards play their last game at US Airways Arena.
December 2 Wizards defeat the Seattle Supersonics, 95-78, in the inaugral game at MCI Center.

1998
May 14 Wizards acquire all-stars Mitch Richmond and Otis Thorpe in a trade with Sacramento for Chris Webber.

1999
