CHARLIE'S STORY

Jeremy Liao

"I am going to stay here for Sally's Wedding." I said regrettably. "I can't seem to remember anything right now, and Sally seems to be the only link I have to everything that happened on the train. If I spend more time here with her, I might be able to regain my memory."

"Well, if that's what you think is best for you." My mother nodded. "Grandpa and I will accompany you to her wedding so we can watch over you more closely. Wait, right here, I will go prepare for your hospital discharge."

Just when my mother left the room, I heard this loud high female scream, then a few more seconds a big thumping noise, as if the great Rockies mountain has tumbled down. All of us rushed outside to the intersection, and we saw young female lying on the cold asphalt of the road with a big puddle of blood all over her. Sally was hit by a car. The car was already no where in sight.

I rushed out, holding her in my arm, and shouted "Someone call an ambulance, this woman needs immediate medical attention." The moment those words came out of my mouth, I realized that I just came from the hospital. "Get out of my way, she needs medical attention."

I knew right then that she was gone.
"No...No...No... This was not supposed to happen to you..."

Suddenly, I opened my eyes, and I realized that I was still lying in my bed and it was only a 'dream'. But what could all of this mean? Do I dislike Sally so much that I wish she was killed in a car accident? Also, was Cassie trying to tell me something? Perhaps my instinct tells me that she might still be alive.

"Charlie, are you feeling okay? It seems you have quite a nightmare just now. You want some donuts??? It's MY favourite - jelly filled donuts!!!" A female voiced asked me.

"Err?" I looked over to her direction. I saw Sally munching away on a dozen of jelly filled donuts. The sight of strawberry jelly oozing out of Sally's mouth just totally grossed me out. And I thought to myself, this has to be a 'dream' again. Sally offered me a half-eaten donuts, and to stay away from this mess, I moved toward the edge of the bed, and dropped right to the floor.

"Awwwhhh!!!" That really hurts! I looked around this time to make sure that neither Sally nor jelly filled donuts were in sight. Just to doubly make sure, I pinched myself only to find out that this is not a dream anymore.

Getting up from the floor, I climbed back to my bed, and this is when I noticed that....
