CHARLIE'S STORY

"Now, Chuckie ol pal, you've got to tell me more about your personal affairs... first there's Sally then Cassie... You really have it going there!!" Miles hits me slightly with his elbow and gives me a smirky glance. Yep, Miles was Miles. What was I thinking when I waved Miles over to save me from the unstoppable Sally? "It's not like what you think, Miles," I tried to say something. "Well, come on Charles, please tell us the story of Cassie and you. She must be an extremely special lady in your life," looking at me, Sally says impatiently.
Yes, indeed Cassie was special, but I did not feel like sharing the story with these chatterboxes, but what was I to do? "Please God, help me..." In despair, I turned to my religious idol, and begged for assistance. Suddenly after the private talk with God, a wonderfully strange aroma passed me by carrying with it an exotic looking glamorous blond dressed in a complete orange shiny fabric. She was very noticeable. Miles certainly noticed her.
With eyes bulged out, jaw dropped, Miles' gaze was stuck to the farthering young lady. "What a beauty..." he murmurs. "Yep, she surely is something," I said in reply to him. "Something, are you kidding? She is EVERYTHING a man can ask for. A Goddess, I say, a Goddess from heaven!!" His eyes were still glued to the lady's back. "Well, Charles, anyway, can we please continue with the story of you an Cassie?" ignoring our companion who has so recently fell in love, Sally turns to me and asked.
"I'm very sorry, my friends, but I have to run after my dream girl while I can still see her. Hope to catch you later, good bye!!" Miles jumped up and left. After wishing Miles luck, Sally again was on my case asking about Cassie. "Sally, why don't we have a toast to Cassie and all the beautiful ladies out there first?" I raised my glass of liquor. Sally also reaches for her half glass of bloody Marie and drank up the whole thing. "Oh, I feel a little dizzy Charles, perhaps I should take a nap now," Sally says right after she finishes the drink. "Perhaps you should, Sally," I replied gladly. She turned her head and fell into a snore.
Ah, now I'm finally alone without the bothers of my companions. But somehow the thought of Cassie wouldn't leave my mind, and I fell into a deep sense of reminisence.
It was the summer of 89. I went to the United Kingdom to pursue my long desired dream of studies in natural biology with the great professor, Charles Darwin. There I met her, Cassie, the love of my life. Together we'd go collect samples of insects around the city dump and in the suburban sewages near London. Under the starry nights, we would sing songs of joy and wait for our little preys. She once said the sweetest thing to me after a long night of bird watching, "Charlie, I'd love to do this with you everynight of my life..." At that moment, like a miracle, the rarest species of Ganzelles felifium flew by us sending sparks of love into the dark sky. Yes, I loved her deeply.
That winter, I had to go home for Christmas, so I left her thinking we'd meet right after the vacation was over. Little did I know... After I returned to the United Kingdom, they told me she has left for a voyage to Africa. So I waited and waited, but she never came back with the ship. They told me she'd disappeared and had a very little chance for survival in the wild jungles of Africa. My God, how shocked and heartbroken I was, it's beyond description. So now every year at this time, I would go to her hometown to visit her grave and to tell her how much I missed her.
After thinking of Cassie, I was feeling very depressed and turned to order a four shot Vodka from the waitress. After I took a few sips from the Vodka, I felt another urge to go the lavatory room, so I left the seat. On my way to the lavatory room, I recalled that this was the third time I had to go in the last one and a half hour. "Could there be something wrong with my bladder?" I thought quietly to myself. As I reached the line up, I heard a sweet angelic voice which I could swear belonged to no one but my Cassie!! "Excuse me sir, but I was here first," the firm, yet soft voice announced. "Yes, it must be Cassie!!" I pushed my way through the crowd trying to approach the owner of the voice, and to my surprise, I saw.....
