| Thoughts on life, writing and the weirdest ideas... | |||||
January 21, 2007
A sad day. Sven, the "Ranger of Torekov", died today. Makes you think a lot when someone passes away, start to re-evaluate things, if only for a while, but more than that you look back at the person's life, think of your own journey. He lived a peaceful life, I believe, and I'll make my little contribution to his memory by adding him to my next short story. I pay homage to people with my fiction, you might have noticed, most illustrious of example the Queen of Pino, Mizzy herself. As far as fiction is concerned, "The Blood of Castalsara" was completed earlier this night. The ending, the planned version of which I had been sorely unstatisfied with, has been tweaked to a far better conclusion, fitting to the character, the theme, and the story. When the trinity is served, a writer can do no better. Next is a quick dip back into surreal sf, tentatively titled "Escapism" (most likely a title which will change). It's one of those works that lagged around and is finally ripe enough to be mopped up. Once that is done (and so my creative writing portfolio) it's on to the novelette/novel of multiple 1st-POV. Should be a very interesting, and satisfying, piece of work. At some point, I *am* planning to polish "The Fifth Season" and have it bound. When? I'm not sure exactly, but I like the plot too much to leave it to rot. So much to do, so little time!

very thoughtful, considerate and caring thoughts about Mizzy and Swen, that show you are a very sensitive man.
