Will Piovano's Musings
Thoughts on life, writing and the weirdest ideas...

A black hole of space and time between entries. Time slips away faster than you can keep your eye on it! Moving, working, vacation and most of all the lack of internet have mutilated my blogging time (or killed it, rather). Unfortunately there's not much to be said for an entire month's worth of work. Driftworlds has (surprise surprise...) grown to greater scope. Some twelve thousand words have come out, and while I'm quite pleased with what I see, there's a lot yet to hack away. The mood has to be tweaked, and I'm still getting to know the world and all its little secrets.

The main reason (aside from my laziness) for the lack of progress is a continuously improved planning of plot and theme. Driftworlds: A Collection (this is the current working title) has gone from straightforward story to experimentation of flashback manipulation to intertwined storylines to a (hopefully) final collection of different tales which serve to tell the greater one. The discovery of new gods, the war to be worthy of their worship, the Aeimar affair and the (spoiler!) ethereal tunnels; an important piece of history which left few survivors, and has now been collected into an omnibus.

It's looking very, very interesting, and I get closer and closer every day to actually churning out more words (which is what counts in the end!).

Meanwhile I also have Clepsydra and Candle Wax under a final day of polish before they fly over to editors. Fingers crossed on those!
