Observations about Japan

The longer I live in Japan, the less I think I know about it.  ... But here are the things that I am sure of...
  1. Sapporo has two seasons.  Winter and July.
  2. Japanese people love mayonnaise.
  3. Nattou smells really bad.  They say that it's like the "blue cheese" of Japan, except that blue cheese is normal whereas nattou is really weird.
  4. Westerners that say they are good at Japanese know next to nothing.  Westerners that are good at Japanese say "I can speak a little"
  5. Japan women love dogs.  If you called a Japanese woman a dog, she would take it as a compliment.  Please try this and tell me your results.
  6. There are more fake brunettes in Japan than there are fake blondes in California.
  7. According to the Japanese mindset, the pinnacle of American television is "Full House"
  8. There is a homeless man in the Susukino subway station that looks exactly like Prime Minister Koizumi
