Wag
The Dog : This movie
arrived just in time. Bill Clinton was the PR-man for it. Also many thanks
to Monica Lewinsky, it wouldnīt have been half the fun without their
affair. Now back to the film :
The President is accused
of having a little oral rendezvous with a young girl in the Oval Office.
And itīs only few weeks to the (re)elections !
Only one man can save the day - Conrad Brean (Robert DeNiro), a perfect
press-manipulator. He chooses to help the Prez in declaring a fake war
against randomly chosen Albania, plot directed by Hollywood producer Stanley
Motss (Dustin Hoffman).
And thatīs what they do : Writing a song, creating a symbol, shooting
the war footage (with Kirsten Dunst as Albanian
girl), and casting a war hero (Woody Harrelson). - And finally all suceed,
well almost ...
WAG is a tremendous movie
with absolutely great actors, as well as supporting-actors. Itīs
even worth seeing it twice.

I Know What
You Did Last Summer : Do
you really want me to tell you something about this film ? O.K. ! Between
Scream 1 & 2 there was a bit of time for director Wes Craven to do
another little horror-movie.
Teenies kill a man in a car accident. They have no eye-witnesses to expect,
so they throw the corpse into the sea. They think : Well, thatīs
all folks, but, yes you guess it right, he isnīt really dead.
Exactly one year later one of the girls receives a letter with the words
written on it :(see film-title). The poor teenies panick. One couple dies,
the other manages to kill the threatener "again". So they think.
But in a teenie-in-towel shower-scene another message appears and seconds
after ...
Sorry, but this piece
of shit is not worth going into details. The film works fine with younger
movie-goers, but if youīre older than 15, please wait for Scream
2 (I hope this movie doesnīt blow).
I was lucky to see IKWYDLS for free, I was sent to this flick by a very
good friend of mine, and I have to say, this movie was the only choice
at that moment. Honest !

Jackie
Brown : So
many friends of mine were more than disappointed with this movie. Hey people,
what was that bad ? Quentin Tarantino didnīt want to produce another
action-movie, instead he wrote a clever script.

The Jackal
: Bruce Willis and Richard
Gere, what a nice combination, in a remake of the 60ies classic I was lucky
to see a few days before on TV. The older film was really great and thrilling,
the latter is just a poor rip-off, although Bruce is clever as ever. The
part of the Irish freedom-fighter is new to me and not really necessary,
possibly Mr. Gere was included to get more female folks into the cinemas.
