Bill's Page 2

I ran across some old pictures which were taken while I was in the Army.

This first one was taken early one morning while we were getting ready to road march our equipment back to base. A hot air ballon flew over, and I thought it made a good shot.

These next 3 were taken during a climb up New Hampshire's Mt Washington.

Mt Washington above Treeline.

Our Battalion Commander at the top.

My Platoon (1st Platoon of 642nd Engineer Company). That's me in the first row, 3rd from left.

This was taken in New Hampshire at an Air Force Tracking Station when we rebuilt a road for the Air Force.

The last picture was taken by a friend of mine while we were constructing a rifle range on Ft. Deven's South Post. That's me on the compactor in the front.

I am including some other pictures I found while going through some boxes.

This is a picture I snapped of a kitten resting in my wife's fern plant one summer.

These next 3 were taken after a tornado came over our house one night. These pictures were taken the next day.

2 tree limbs that were twisted off our neighbor's trees.

You can see how far they came into my back yard.

This after the limbs were cut up by someone who wanted the wood.

These last 3 photos were taken where I grew up.

This is a grave in the middle of a country road. Yes, they built the road around the grave. For those of you who wish to see it, it is located in Amity, Indiana on Country Road 400S east of US31 in Johnson County.

This is the marker that was placed on the grave. I grew up about 1/4 mile from here. The marker reads:

Nancy Kerlin Barnett

Born: May 14, 1793 - Died: Dec. 1, 1831

Married to William Barnett, Feb. 29, 1808

He was born Sept. 27, 1786,

drowned in Ohio River Sept. 24, 1854.

William was the great, great, great

grandson of Pocahantas and John Rolfe.

Daniel G. Doty, 1846-1943, protected his

grandmother's grave by staying here

with his gun, while the county re-

located this cemetery in order to

build the road. A concrete slab was

placed over the grave, to protect

the marker, Aug. 8, 1912

This was the house I lived in until I was a junior in High School.
