On The Wings Of Love

Chapter 2

Friendship

The girl flopped on the seat with a bounce, she was completely done in. But she was excited, too. She hadn't seen her ex-classmates for about 3 years now, when they all moved away. Brianna was the only one staying in Chelsea/London, the other three girls had moved to Dublin/Eire, Aberdeen /Scotland and Sunderland, in the very north of England. But they had kept in touch with each other, calling, writing, mailing.

Samantha, one of the girls group, had that fantastic idea. All of them should come to Dublin for two month or more. Sam's father was quiete rich, her family lived in wealth, and the parent's almost allowed her everything. So they assented to Sam's plan to let the girls spend their holidays in their house while they would be on a trip round Malaysia.

When Bry thought of the last years with her best friends, she had to smile a little bit. They were so close and aquainted, she really missed her mates. She tried to imagine how they all would look like today.

Hannah with her beatiful dark brown hair and her perfect green eyes. Emily, the wild child of the group with dark brown hair contrasting in a very mysterious way with her beautiful eyes in a china-blue-like shade. Would they all look the same now?

Samantha was the oldest one, but not quiete the 'grown-up' one could thought she'd be. And last but not least Brianna. She seemed to be the adult of the girl-group, she was very mature for her age.

Brianna was nervous, so bad that she couldn't sleep or eat while flying to Dublin. At the airport a young man, "Call me Steve!", took her downtown in a very old car. Brianna thought it would break any second when she moved. So she kept quiet, just looked at the houses, and thought about Mark. She couldn't get him off her mind.

It was so crazy. She didn't want anything like that, and now she was on the move to fall in love again. But how could that be? The girl remembered what had happen two years ago, when she was together with one of her friends and met a boy, and til yet the last one, she tried to forget about it, in vain. Still the tears came from just a little thought of it...She felt so exploited, dirty and sad. Would she ever get over it?

Steve was one of the employees working for Sam's dad, and he was really kind. He carried her bags and even herself into the huge house.

The first time she saw the house Brianna was really shocked. So colourful and huge, extremely huge, she was quiete astounded. But as soon as she opened the door she started laughing.

Everywhere she just saw clothes and towels, and in the middle of it all there stood a girl, her hair hanging down straggly, her face a puffing red, almost crying. She shouted for the housekeeper, but the woman had just left.

"Hey Sam!" Brianna called. This was Samantha, in her most typical way. Like she used to be.

Sam hadn't change at all. Her hair was longer since the last time they had seen each other. She wore a white polo-shirt compared with a very expensive skirt, dark blue with grey shades, the girl was barefoot. But she seemed to be more mature than the last time Brianna had seen her. The way she behaved was exactly the same, but her way of smiling showed her new and adult image.

Sam and Brianna screamed when they saw the door opening and Emily and Hannah entering the hall. They had just finished cleaning the house and preparing the meal. The four girls hugged each other and cried because of being reunited again.

"This is a special moment..." Emily stated, the others broke out in laughing. They all were so happy, cheerful laughter in every room.

"What had happened to your hair?" Sam was really topsy-turvy. She remembered Emily as brown-haired, but now she saw a blonde. Emily shook her head and her short and stylish blond hair bobbed around. Sam embraced her friend again, exuberantly.

After a luxorious dinner, prepared by Brianna, the girls sat together talking about their lives after moving away from each other. Hannah asked the others about having a boyfriend, curious as she was.

Emily smiled: "No, I don't have a boyfriend yet. I've been out with such a stupid guy twice and it was horrible!" She grinned. "He called himself Superman, but, in fact, his real name was Anders. Met him in Sweden during the christmas holidays last year. He was quiete good-looking, but lisped all the time. I think he wanted to be cool. Kinda weird, isn't it? I don't know why, but he thought me being in love with him. He even wanted to marry me..."

The blond-haired girl gave a little laugh. "Old-fashioned and a little outta date!" she snickered.

"He looked like death warmed up!" The other girls tried to keep a straight face, but without a chance to win.

Sam pretended to faint for an effect. "I know that kind...Really weird, believe me!" She chuckled. "A little outta date..." she repeated, laughing, almost weeping.

"And what's up with our Hannah-Baby?"

Emily tapped her friend's shoulder. The latter's face turned into a puffing red. She smiled sheepishly. "I don't have a boyfriend, too. Never had a real relationship before, just puppy love. Nothin' real! It's kinda sad, but maybe, in the next five years, something's gonna happen. I've read my horoscope!" Hannah grinned.

"Don't speak that way, you've got enough time now to find your dreamlover. Hey, before I'm gonna forget it: Kian and Bryan promised me to guide us through the town, together with their mates!" Sam stood up, to get something to drink. Five minutes later she flopped back onto the sofa. The girls stared at her, silently, until Em broke the silence.

    "Who's Bryan and who's Kian?"

    "My boyfriend..." Sam answered dazzly.

    "Both?" Emily asked confused

"What?" Sam snapped back to reality. "Br...Kian's my boyfriend..."

Em looked at her, still confused. Sam tried to hide something, she could feel it. But she didn't want to go on thinking about it, she was so happy to be together with all her friends again.
