On The Wings Of Love

Chapter 6

Confessions

"That's hard!" Emily bit her lower lip. She had decided to tell Kian about Sam and Bryan, and to confess her feelings for him, what she didn't dare. But the blond boy wasn't surprised. He seemed to know. He smiled at her, sorrily.

"I know that Sam is not that kind of girl playing these games..."

"But...I've heard her! And I've seen her!" Emily frowned, Kian didn't seem to believe in her. She could hardly hold back the tears. She turned away, looking out of the window. This was harder than she thought it would be. She thought that if Kian would know this all, something would gonna change.

But the guy just stood there, smiling a bit. For only eight days he had known that girl, and since that day he was completely lovesick for her. She seemed to be so cool, so unapproachable, untouchable. He just didn't know what to make of her. Kian wasn't sure about what to do, he used to know girls but this time it was different.

Emily was...she was a kind of mysterious, a kind of 'out of reach'. She had touched his heart, just by being with him, by looking into his eyes. He had seen a sincere gloom in her blue eyes, he had noticed that she had an obvious crush on him. But she went out with Bryan, and he, himself, went out with Samantha.

But these two relationships weren't that good, Kian realized that Sam wasn't the girl of his dreams. He thought he loved her, but now he knew what he felt. He was in love with Emily, but how letting her know?

The girl still stood in front of the window, still gazing outside, then suddenly she whirled around. "I'd better get goin' now! I've got a lot to things to do." She smiled weedily, knowing that she was lying. When she reached the door, Kian started speaking.

"I am not that perfunctory as I may seem..." He shrugged and tilted his head, unable to continue.

Emily slowly turned around: "So, think about it. Think about what you want, what's important for you!" she retorted. She could almost feel Kian gritting his teeth. But she couldn't stay! The girl took the handlebar and really had to push herself out of the room.

"Emily!" Kian cried, running after her, stumbling, weeping, sobbing. Em winced when she heard the boy's voice. Tears were running down her cheeks, her thoughts were running wild.

"Sorry!" she whispered.      "Sorry! I didn't want to hurt you..."

"No..." he interrupted quickly and took her hand, carressing her wrist. "You didn't hurt me. Sam told me about that all, she was here, she confessed her love to Bryan...And I let her go..."

Kian continued: "She told me everything, even about your 'little' fight...I didn't know that it means so much to you! Why didn't you let me know? Why did you try to keep it away from me?"

The girl sighed. "I didn't dare...I wasn't sure what you might feel...And I still am..." Indecisive how to go on, a little tear ran down her cheek.

Emily tilted her head, Kian continued: "I realized that this relationship wasn't for real...and I think it will be better this way...I was lying to myself, I denied my feelings...I hope that you'll understand this, one day..." Kian stopped, smiling at the girl standing in front of him. He touched her hair, her shoulder, her tender cheeks. Emily shivered, but as soon as Kian took her into his arms she felt a kind of safeness she never felt before.

"I know that it is not the right time, but I am really sorry for being so intolerable..." Emily stared at her feet, unsure to look into Kians eyes. He took her hand, touched and carressed it. She glared at him. The blonde boy smiled, with eyes full of love.

"I am sick of all this fighting, I don't want to go on this way. I've denied my real feelings. It's not often that you find someone who can fulfill all your dreams inside..."

Kian paused, taking a deep breath:      "That's what I've imagined, since the day I first saw you, your beautiful eyes looking deep into mine, telling me more than words can say...It seems I conquer all my soul, and this is the truth!"

This evening, when Emily came home, Sam sat on the sofa. She seemed to wait for her. Emily tried to avoid contact with her, but Sam had already recognized her.

Are you happy now?? Did I manage to make you feel better?" she asked with a sarcastic tone in her resentful voice. Em didn't answer. She was about to go upstairs, when she heard Sam sobbing. Slowly the blonde turned around.

Moving closer to the girl sitting on the sofa Emily realized that she had done all wrong. Her behaviour was more worse than Sams. Indecisive she stood in front of Sam, looking down on the ground, unsure what to say.

Sam wiped her tears away. Without any sound she sat there.

"I...I am sorry..." Emily whispered. She wasn't sure if Sam heard her saying this, because the latter didn't move.

"I am sorry!" Now she cried. Sam didn't react, anyway. Em whirled around and ran upstairs into her room, slamming the door.

Sam got up, slowly. Solicitous if Emily was ok, she went upstairs and knocked the door.

"Em...Em, are you in there?" Sam asked, but she knew that her friend was. "Em..." Samantha opened the door, wavering.

The blond girl stood next to the window. She didn't react when Sam entered the room.     "Emily...I know that I was wrong, but now it is ok. Everything is. Aren't you happy? You didnt need to say sorry..."

The girl at the window started quivering. Sam went over to her and embraced her, without saying a word. Em broke into tears, silenty. Samantha tried to calm her down with caressing her shoulders.

"I am sorry, I am really sorry!" The blond girl managed to whisper.

"Oh my god, fearsome elements of the soccer-tribe!" Emily screamed when she saw the guys waiting outside. All of them wore their football dresses, from their favourite team Leeds United.

Her voice raised again, when Brianna came out of the house. The blond girl wore an England-tricot.

"War paint? Let's get ready to rumble!" Emily was very excited. "But, Bry...Your shirt is a little outta date..." She laughed, Briannas tricot was from the World-Champion-Ship in 1998. On the back there was an application showing Number 9 - Alan Shearer.

Mark had invited the whole group to watch a soccer-game, Leeds United verses Tottenham Hotspurs, in the Wembley-Stadium. Early in the morning the group flew to London and entered the bus to Wembley. It was overcrowded, there were only a few seats free. Mark and Kian 'conquered' them and pretended to be very relaxed.

"Do you wanna sit?" Mark asked Brianna who stood next to him. She smiled and dropped on his lap, softly and slow. Mark was quiete astonished, but took a light hold of her so that she wouldn't fell off the ground when the bus might stop very hard.

A lot of Leeds-fans stood in a row to get into the stadium, but Brianna saw several people with Tottenham-Shirts. Kian predicted that Tottenham, her favourite team, would have no chance to win. All knew that Leeds was the better team, no question. But Brianna never gave up hope.

The play was quiete nice. Darren Anderton (Tottenham Hotspurs) did most of it all. But, in the end no goal has been scored! The guys screamed, Hannah and Sam smiled slyly. Emily and Brianna waved their hands, in between they were fighting about who the better team is. This was so funny, even Bryan, who was very quiet this day, laughed.

After the game the group left their seats, but not to go home! They got something to eat and went back to the tribune. Somehow they lost Kian, Emily was a little entangled but soon she got better.

She saw, no, better, she heard Kian shouting and screaming from the green place. He stood right in the middle of the football-field, waving and shouting at his friends like a little child.

"Come on you lazy guys!!! This is fun, this is life!" His voice skipped sometimes, he was excited and a little bit dissapppointed to see the others not budging. The others didn't understand first what Kian meant, but then Shane got up on his feet.

"I feel like wanting to play soccer!" He stated. "You feel the same?" cuffing Mark and poking Bryan. Seeing them not moving he pouted and cuffed the girls.

"Do you wanna join our private little team?"

Emily stared at him, unbelieving in what he tried to say.

"You want us to go down there and have a little play?`A soccer-play? You're joking, you're playing nuts!" the girl said in a gentle tone.

"Kinda weeny, aren't you???" she said defiantly.

"Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, pl..."

"Shut up man!!!" Mark sounded a little annoyed.

    "What's the problem, Feehily?"

The two boys broke into laughter, Bryan looked at the girls, kinda knowing.

"Please, please, please, please, plase...I will go on saying please, please, please all the time to make you go mad if you don't come with me now!" Shane sounded quiete aggressive, but he was still smiling his gorgeous smile.

"Come on, Sam!" Bryan got up and took Samanthas hands, squeezing them softly. He glared at her, now he knew that he could do this in front of all the others. Of course he was sorry for Emily, but at this time noone knew what was going on between Kian and the blond girl.

Shane already turned to go down to Kian who was on the verge of getting into temper. Emily followed, pushing Brianna, Mark and Hannah with her. Bryan and Sam were close behind them.

"What do you want to do?" Hannah who walked beside Shane asked curiously, a very unusual trait in her. She wasn't the kind of girl being so forward and fast-moving.

"We wanna play a little soccer-game."

    He glared at her.

"Boys verses girls...No..." he thought it over quickly, „No...better four on four, mixed up!"

"And who with who?" Hannah was really forward and directly.

"Hum...I don't know. Let the others decide..." The brown-haired boy paused for a second.

"But...I want you to...D'you wanna join my team?"

Hannah smiled a smile from one ear to the other. Shane recognized the sparkle in her luminous green eyes, this made him feel a fire burning inside. And a voice from deep within told him: "Carpe Diem-Seize the day!"

And he did! Exuberantly he took the girl's hand and held it til the arrived the place where Kian was waiting for them.

Soon they got battling about to get one ball into two goals. Mark, Brianna, Sam and Bryan formed the one team, Hannah, Shane, Kian and Emily were the other team. Bryan and Emily volontarily did good jobs as goalkeepers.

Bryan called himself David Seaman, while Em joked: "I am Carlos Roa!" This man was the goalkeeper from Argentina and he was the one who messed up the victory of the England national-team in 1998.

So one can imagine that the other guys were kinda careful, maybe Emily would be as good as Roa?

Brianna started to attack Roa, ahm, Emily. She ran straight down the field, Mark behind her. Kian tried to stop her but she was more faster then he. The blond boy stared at her, open-mouthed, and accidently bumped into Mark who just had eyes for Brianna.

The two boys were laughing, not recognizing Brianna kicking the ball into the goal. Emily who was admiring Kian, realized it too late, she didn't get it anymore.

Shane came over to her, shouting: "Great goal-keeper, you! A goal-keeper in love!" He smiled.
