But I can give you a contact name and working address of our uncle Dave Stone currently living in Pakipaki Hastings and working with Te Puni Kokiri Hastings. Our great grandfather was originally a Pohatu who was adopted at birth as a Carroll. Our whanau attended a Pohatu reunion at Tamanuhiri marae in Muriwai in 1995, and it was through Uncle Dave Stone that we knew of this, which, resulted in us gaining a whanau connection with relations we never knew we had. It was a marvellous time. I dont currently have Uncle Dave's home address or phone number, but you will be able to ring Te Puni Kokiri in Hastings who will put you on to him. I must say if you have'nt already met him and his whanau, you will be greatly pleased. Beautiful people! Uncle may not know this but we love him for all he has done for us, and I am sure he will likewise do for you. Kia ora Hiria! They had two children that I am aware of, Pora and Raraku. However, there are no descendants from these two. I come from another of Kawana Hunia's wives. Hereora was from Muaupoko - the Taueki whanau were and still are one of the senior Muaupoko whanau. There are Broughtons down there also like the kaumatua Jim Broughton who would be authority on the whakapapa and other information - maybe you can contact the Muaupoko Tribal Authority in Levin - they could put you on to Jim. As I final note, I have been told that Hereora is buried in Whangaehu, which is just south of Whanganui - at an urupa called Owhawhakau. This is Ngati Apa land and I dont know why she was buried there. Hope this all helps. I recognise the names that you have submitted (i.e. Waho Hapuku / 'Hawera'). One of my mum's tuakana (older sister) married a Waho from Karioi in Ohakune. Some of the Waho whanau use (Te) Hapuku as a middle name, a tupuna, I've been told, who comes from Ngati Kahungunu. As for the name 'Hawera', it seems similar to my Dad's rellies, the HAWIRA whanau. They are also from the Ohakune (Ngati Rangi) and Raetihi (Ngati Uenuku) area - All part of the wider TE ATIHAUNUI-A-PAPARANGI / WANGANUI people. Well, that's enough korero to bombard you with at this time, I'm certain we will korero soon.
