A former Westminster student has received a prestigious award for his
debut feature film, shortly to be released in the UK.
Asif Kapadia, who graduated 1994 from the Westminster Film and
Television Production course, received the Sutherland Trophy at the Regus
London Film Festival.
The award is given to the most original and imaginative first feature.
The film, The Warrior, was described by the Guardian as an “epic
drama about a journey from the deserts of Rajasthan to the Himalayas.”
It received a five-minute standing ovation from the audience when it was
first shown.
Asif gave a presentation of his film to around 450 Harrow students a
few weeks ago at the National Film Theatre. “????”
