Julie and Melissa Fundraising for the American Cancer Society at Relay For Life!
Every year, the Michigan Epsilon chapter follows the Pi Beta Phi tradition of staying dedicated members of the community; both locally and nationally.  We accomplish this through the many hours of community service each member donates to organizations in the Kalamazoo area.  Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Special Olympics, and Croyden School are just a few examples of organizations that Pi Phi's have frequently volunteered with.  At least twice a year  the whole chapter bands together to spend a full day volunteering  in a community- wide event, such as our most recent endeavor, the ACS Relay for Life in which the campus community raised over $28,000  for cancer research!

Our chapter also hosts a yearly 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament called "Hoops for Halos" which is our annual fundraising event to raise monetary donations for Pi Beta Phi's national philanthropies. The first, a Pi Beta Phi national service project called LINKS TO LITERACY which assists schools or local organizations in providing book distribution and one-on-one reading tutoring for students in need.  The second, ARROW IN THE ARCTIC provides support for branches of libraries in the Yukon and Northwest Territorries of Canada.
