HI NICK!
Nick is the best d-man in the NHL (and he's my favorite Wing). He's been playing awesomely this season. He's the NHL's top scoring dman and this season he had a career high in goals. Nick remained a runner up for both the Norris and Lady Byng trophies this year. However, he was named to the first All-Star team along with Stevie and Shanny.

He's the 6'5", 23 year old defenseman the Wings have been waiting for. Earlier this season, Jiri was given a much bigger role than last season. Usually paired with Aaron Ward, he has had the opportunity to at times round out the top-4. He has seen power play and penalty kill time. He has recently been sent to the Cincinatti Mighty Ducks to make room on the roster temporarily. He's still waiting for his first official NHL goal, however he has scored down in Cinci for an official PRO goal. He'll be back soon, and he'll be even more fired up.

Shanny joined the Wings in 1997. That year the Wings won their first Cup in 42 years. They won it again in 1998. Coincidence? Maybe, but his becoming a Wing sure didn't hurt. Last season Shanny signed a contract for 5 more years, which includes a no-trade clause. This followed a very successful 1999-2000 in which Shanny score 40+ goals. Shanny has proven that when the heat of Hockeytown is on, he still has what it takes.
He's everything a captain should be.
He's broken records. He's on all time leaders lists. His dedication to the Wings shows every time he's in uniform. Stevie was awarded the Selke Trophy in June, for the league's top defensive forward, but that award only honors part of his incredible skills. His leadership is awesome on and off the ice.
This guy loves Hockeytown and Hockeytown loves this guy. No matter who wear's the "C" in the future, Stevie will always be

This all Russian line included Sergei Fedorov, Slava Kozlov, Igor Larionov, Slava Fetisov, and Vladimir Konstanitov.
Fetisov is now coaching and Vladdy's career is over due to a limo accident.
The last time this line was on the ice the Wings won the Cup.

There are some who call him Ozzie. Others call him "the Wizard." His mom simply calls him Christopher
(and, boy, is she proud of him).
Ozzie has been sharing goaltending duties with Manny Legace this season. Despite struggling ealier this season, Ozzie has returned to form and, as expected. has seen an increase in ice time.
Ozzie now plays for the St. Louis Blues...he'll be moved to my non-Wings page eventually because he's still a great player!
