Miami by Night is populated by a myriad of people. Among the clubbers and the homeless, among the jet-set and the bluecollars, among the hopes and fears of a city dragging itself to the future walk the denizens of the night, the vampires that have made Miami their home, by fate or choice. While the Kindred population of Miami is somewhat large, given the amount of mortals in the city and the county as a whole, there's a definite cast of characters that has, willingly or otherwise, become the primary players in the unfolding drama of a struggle for the city's control. Nina and Ben are the two young Kindred who have, through the forces of destiny, ascended from novices to primary players in a game of deadly politics. Along the road, they have picked up allies, helpless Kindred caught up in the web of intrigue and death that is the vampire's Legacy: Eric, the young Ventrue businessman who hides behind a façade of power; young Korin, lost in his new nature, cut off from the world he loved, wanderer in the night and Nuriko, artists extraordinaire and Toreador by the book. Acting from the shadows and high-rise, luxurious hotels, are those who are vying for the actual control of the city of Miami. Anastasia, Primogen of the clan Toreador, Prince of Miami in all but name. At her side stand her Elders, Kolya and Minerva, strengthening her claim, along with their followers, Carlos and Shadow, the Nosferatu. In the way, however, stand a host of forces acting against her, including Cameron, Primogen of clan Ventrue and Prince-for-a-day, the remnants of Clan Brujah, Vera, Ben's ex-wife, who hides a vendetta against the main players, and the deadliest threat, the Sabbat Archbishop of Miami, Diego Alcazar. And caught in the middle, dancing to the sound of a music that they cannot hear, ignorant of the events, only suffering the consequences, stand Gloria and Marie, Nina's roommates, and Michael, Nina's one and true love, torn apart by a knowledge that is denied him and his unquestionable love. Miami also houses travelers from all over the globe, and in recent days, more and more Kindred prowl the streets of the city. Among them Leonard, a new player who is as mysterious and he is shrewd and sharp, and the mysterious woman seen by some, another Kindred, but lost, alone, and with a deadly legacy, the Third Eye. These are the players that night after night either change or are changed by the events that unfold once the sun sets, and the shadows come alive.
