H.M.S. Pinafore (Australian version)
H.M.S. Pinafore was WODS first-ever production in 1892, you may not remember that but you may remember Hot Mikado performed in 1997 and Pirates of Penzance staged in 2000. The Australian version of H.M.S. Pinafore is in a similar vein. This version was revised and staged with enormous critical and commercial success between 1994 and 2003 in Australia and New Zealand, but remains very British in its production.
The show is a spectacular new brand of Gilbert & Sullivan featuring a funky female chorus of Sisters, Cousins and Aunts, an energetic singing and dancing chorus of Sailors, a tighter, funnier script and a lively modern orchestration for just 6 instruments. Despite the changes however, the most beautiful songs for Ralph and Josephine are performed in traditional style.

The cast were as follows:
Captain Corcoran - Andrew Gilhooly
Buttercup - Ann Mayor
Sir Joseph Porter - Bruce Wyatt
Josephine - Laura Synnuck
Ralph Rackstraw - Richard Hulbert
Dick Deadeye - Ben Leeke

Sisters, Cousins and Aunts - Jacque Cook, Sarah Hadley, Rachel Price, Judy Hooper, Abbi Kainey, Megan Hill, Ann Hasnip, Wendy Holloway, Glynis Smith

Dancers - Chris Hooper, Lisa Hornberger, Kate Playdon, Sarah Milnes
