German Daunenmantel overcoat

This is probably a one in a lifetime opportunity to acquire something really rare and special. The Daunenmantel was a special overcoat introduced in 1914 as an emergency measure to protect the soldiers against the first winter of the war. It was worn underneath the tunic. The coat is heavily padded and reaches down to the knees.

This overcoat is pictured in the reference books which you can find on the main page of this site and is also explanied in the Germazn language books from Jürgen kraus. The overcoat is nicely marked "daunenmantel", and dated 1914 with a stamp from the Bekleidungsamt.

This item is not cheap, but were would you be able to find another one ?
