Hogs are awesome! I love this little cute guy. They are very unique snakes. I have noticed many differences in hognoses. The type of locomotion they use seems to be more animated. They really use their muscles to push off of things. They don't move sublty like my other snakes do. Their bodies are a bit thicker and they have no obvious "neck". Hermes is a very good pinkie eater. Talk about character!

  • Name: Suvas
  • Species: Baird's Ratsnake
  • Scientific: Elaphe bairdi
  • Type: Normal
  • Gender: UNKN
  • Hatch Date: UNKN
  • Obtained: 8-24-02
  • Weight: 1
Ever since I saw some magnificant picture of adult Baird's Ratsnakes I had to get my hands on one. They really are the "undiscovered gem" of a snake. Mine is really neat, although quite nervous and an avid tail shaker. Hopefully it will calm down with age. I can already kinda see the "rainbow effect".

  • Name: Dasani
  • Species: Blue Beauty Ratsnake
  • Scientific: Elaphe taeniura spp.
  • Type: Normal
  • Gender: Male
  • Hatch Date: UNKN
  • Obtained: 10-5-02 (North American Reptile Breeder's Conference and Trade Show)

I've been wanting one of these for quite some time. I very happy to finally have one. I think they are truly beautiful and unique snakes. Dasani is very calm.
