Ok, here we have the final stretch of the "Goat Trail" which leads through Chitistone Gorge. Now, when Sonja and I got to this point, we had already navigated two other similar areas, so we were very ready to be done. When we saw this section, I seriously began considering walking all the way back to the Skolai Airstrip. I've done a lot of hiking in the mountains, and very rarely do I ever get scared of hiking alongside a cliff or across a skree slope. Except for this time. If you are having a hard time finding the trail on this picture, don't worry, you can't see it in real life either. At several points the trail was no more than three inches wide...wide enough for half of your foot! Keep in mind that the bottom of the gorge lies 2,500' below the elevation of the trail.
