8/18/00 (@ East Gaston) Despite a multitude of penalties due to first game jitters and a misguided attempt at refereeing, the Jags pulled through to beat the Warriors handily. Scoring 4 touchdowns was phenom Mario Dye, who tore up the Warrior defense. Also scoring a TD was Bobby Long. Kicker Jonathan Hovis hit a perfect 4 for 4 extra points, while Lee Fayssoux hit the fifth as the Jags went on to win their first game of the season 35-14. |

9/01/00 (@ Cherryville) The Jags came into the game with confidence and left with even more. Mario Dye made a statement with his TD runback of the kickoff. He went on to score three more touchdowns and a two point conversion, ripping through the Ironmen defense like a tornado. Joey Asis also scored his first touchdown of the year. Ever consistent, Jonathan Hovis made 3 of 4 extra point attempts and an awe-inspiring 49-yard field goal. The Jags record climbed to 3-0 with a 40-0 shutout. |

9/08/00 (vs. Burns) On an emotional night, the Jags pulled through with a 10-0 victory over the Bulldogs. Car accident victim Phillip Serafini returned to Forestview as an honorary captain of the football team. The season was dedicated to Serafini, and his old number, 56, placed on all of the helmets. While leaning on Travis Royston for support, Serafini slowly made his way to mid-field and tossed the opening coin as tears dripped down some Forestview faces. Understandably overcome with emotion, the Jaguars went scoreless in the first three quarters against a tough Burns defense. Finally breaking through for a touchdown in the 4th quarter was Mario Dye. Jonathan Hovis connected on the extra point. The other 3 points were on a Hovis field goal a short time later. |
