Notes on Fenshae

Anita Fenshae is a college student and self-created were-thylacine; she's usually seen in her anthro form, though whenever she's depressed she likes to hide in her full-quad form to escape the troubles of human consciousness. Over the years she's grown incredibly uncomfortable in her natural human state, a problem she recognizes and doesn't like to think about.
She hails from a land some distance from Gaia, and is having some difficulties fitting in; there is something in her past that greatly disturbs her, but she won't bring it up to anyone. She's studying pre-veterinary medicine and literary English, and has rudimentary medical skills. Otherwise, despite her anthro-appearance and the unnatural creatures she comes in contact with, Fenshae is a rather normal girl, lacking in any sort of magical powers.
She has a relatively small apartment, cohabitated by her numerous charges. Two bedrooms, with two beds in the second room and a number of cubby-holes built for critters, it's a little crowded but still remarkably comfortable. It's a good thing most of Fenshae's various charges spend a lot of their time off doing their own thing.
She is currently single, and intends to remain that way unless someone super-special comes her way; she is also searching for a larger and more permanent home for herself and the companions she has gained.
At the moment, that search is coming into fruition; the thylacine has come into a small independent fortune of dubious origin, and plans to use every cent of it immediately (not making that dubious origin any better, is she?) on the acquisition of a new house for the kids.

This is Cassius, my first-ever pet on Gaia. He's the panda form of a Tutelary Deity, and he was rescued from a panther by Anita Fenshae's impressive bluffing abilities.
Much has happened in the deity's life; he has grown into an attractive adolescent, and his powers lie dormant beneath him, powerful and awe-inspiring but just beyond his grasp. He does not know why he cannot tame his power...and it frustrates him that he doesn't know what good he can do. Dark details from his past have come to light, and though he has dealt with them in his own way, he can feel the shadow of the past ever-hovering over him. He pushes it away, enough only to care for those who matter most to him--his beloved Douceur, and his friend Razi.
Cassius had a recent brush with darkness; he was reclaimed, after some time, with his patron deity Momus, Greek god of sarcasm and ridicule. He has risen now to full power, but has been changed on a deep fundamental level...and whether the change was for the better is yet to be seen.
Personality--Broody, cynical, quiet. An observer, content to watch unless something stirs his inner sense of righteousness, at which time he can have a vicious temper.
Powers--Cassius is the deity of serenity and calm; he has the ability to slow time, to quiet movement, and to alter states of matter to a more calm, stable state. He also has an affinity for irony and subtle humor, giving him strength in hardships--due to his twisted sense of humor. This can make him appear insensitive at times, and wins him no friends. Here's Samantha, a nice brown-spotted bumbler. She's a little nervous around people, and just a touch neurotic...but awfully devoted to the few she cares about. I bought her in memorial for my old rabbit, my first ever pet. RIP, Sammy.

This is my Zith, the last remaining vestige of an ancient battle between the gods. The shard was awarded to Fenshae after a short competition, and no one's quite sure just what will happen when the shard breaks...
Fenshae is beginning to get a little concerned that she's been hoodwinked--the ice hasn't melted, but it's also showing no signs of breaking. She wonders if that dark shadow in its center is really alive at all...

Fenshae was walking down the street one day when she saw a small building proclaiming itself a "leguani adoption center". Intrigued, she went in to investigate, and learned that Leguani are a rather large species of lizard that, sadly, were often abandoned when they got too big and unruly for their first owners. Well, pity arose in her, and she was soon parted with her cash--but she got to go home carrying a rather heavy box.
She finally did decide to crawl her way out on Fenshae's birthday. Zorneh, as she was named, is a sweet little thing, if a little moody and distinctly irritable when something gets between her and food, sleep, or any other life necessity.
Personality: Attention-loving and a little dramatic, something of a diva and with a mild superiority complex--but outgoing, lovable, and amusing at times as well.

Zenigata, the didgeridoo. Fenshae had heard whispered rumours of a special instrument that held the souls of thylacine joeys, and the concept of having a familiar of her own kind to romp with brought her utmost joy. Finally, she had the opportunity; coming across a small collection of the famed didgeridoos, she quickly made the transaction and walked away with the instrument, which was named Zenigata due to its resemblance to...another of that name.
Fenshae has carried it ever since...hoping it is indeed what she believes it to be.

Meet Penelope, the sweet tarillo brood-cow. She's the grand matriarch of the Lancier herd that Fenshae and Badgercall developed, and awfully sweet...if maybe just a little dim-witted.

This is Eleerhain, or "Winter Song", an Owsla warrior at Thanleo warren. He is young, and unproven, but from excellent stock and so it is assumed that he will be a superior Owsla as he grows older. Sleek of body, muscular, and attractive, he is a fine Owsla if not yet well-trained; he is also remarkably intelligent and uncommonly sensitive, with the makings of story-teller and strategian both in his personality. Who knows what the future holds for this rabbit...

Meet Morgana the ferotter; she was born from a shotglass of spiced rum that'd been on the counter perhaps a tiny bit too long, and has since stuck around with Fenshae and urged her to mix up more drinks so she can have friends. The entire concept is a little fishy and a touch disturbing, but the ferrotters are awfully adorable.
Morgana herself is laid-back and calm, but intelligent and philisophical, and always adventurous. After all, she was born out of rum.

Leo's Journal

Leo here is close to Fenshae's heart; he fell from the sky, from his constellation, and landed in her backyard, and she decided to raise him as a child. This is her first creature to arrive in her house that isn't really a pet (well, except for Cassius, but he's sort of a loner anyway) and she's not quite sure she'll do a good job with him...but she'll sure try.
Leo is an easy charge, at least, to have: totally personable, quiet, well-behaved, insanely friendly, and very curious. So far, things are going smoothly.

Elektra, a beautiful and unique creature that Fenshae got as a birthday present from Haikari. Dark and perhaps just a touch evil, this attractive creature is manipulative and not above doing anything to get what she wants.

For once, a breedable Fenshae wasn't duped into buying! Well, sort of...she really did just think she was buying a pretty handbag. Little did SHE know. Dylan is small yet, and Leo's taken a quiet shine to him, thus making it impossible for Fenshae to get rid of him.

Fenshae should not be allowed in the world with money. She was on her way home--still carrying Estella the egg in the plastic baggie of water--when she stumbled across the Floppi adoption center. This was a place she had passed numerous times, always with the intention of taking home one of the adorable creatures but never having the cash--and now, lo and behold, she had both the money AND the desire, and oh look...an adorable leopard-print coccoon.
Jacko is in the throes of adolesence now, and fits in well with his siblings; that is to say, he is moody, sarcastic, detatched, flighty, and hard to get along with. Something of a mix between Cassius and Zorneh in personality, Jacko is stand-offish and cool-mannered, a touch obsessive compulsive and very shy. Though Fenshae's taken him to visit others of his kind, he has yet to make any friends, due in large part to the fact that he refuses to talk to anyone. He does however enjoy Zorneh's company, and likes to sleep near her, though he scampers away if anybody knows he's there. Jacko also utterly adores the television, and likes nature and news programming. An odd duck, indeed.
Jacko's Journal
This is Sofie, Jacko's little sister. The two have practically nothing in common, and Jacko really can't stand her. She's just a sweet, innocent little thing with her head in the clouds...though she can be incredibly insistent on getting her own way.

And this here is Gabrielle, a coccoon that Jacko discovered collecting dust in the far recesses of the Center. He actually felt sorry for her, and brought her in to take care of. He won't admit it, but he has a soft spot for the little thing...

Sajha is nothing more or less than a loveable little goatlike creature who enjoys frolicking and has a keen eye for adventure.

Fenshae heard it rumoured that there were, scattered throughout Gaia, a number of Celtic Runes which, when subjected to the proper ritual, would yield a magical creature. Armed that knowledge, it was impossible to resist the tempation to go searching, and after a couple day's of hunting she stumbled across a runestone which seemed to match the description. This she's taken home and watched closely, trying to figure out how to properly call him...
Benitrad's Journal
This, at least, was one of Fenshae's more informed purchases, but no less risky due to her perhaps less-than-perfect judgement. Nonetheless, she at least knows what to expect...sort of. Kind of. No matter; she took home the enchanted bottle of life-bringing substance, prepared to wait and see what's to become of it...
And there you have it--after all that, she ended herself up with an oversized sarcastic insect. Honestly, is Fenshae capable of getting someone who ISN'T a jackass?

This mysterious thing was left on Fenshae's doorstep, marked simply "from Cupid". Who could it have been? She does not know...nor does she have any idea what it is.

This is Ananda, a custom Tala Fenshae won in addition to being hired as the RPM. She is a sweet creature, very calm and composed and wise beyond her years. Indeed, she can seem a little dull at times because it's hard to get her excited, and she prefers to sit and watch than participate. All of this can get in the way of her having many friends...but she's incredibly loyal to the ones she has.

Fenshae's newest pet...info pending.
