Pianist MARCANTONIO BARONE is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music where he worked with Eleanor Sokoloff and continued his studies with Leon Fleisher at the Peabody Conservatory. Mr. Barone made his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the age of ten and was a prizewinner at the Busoni and Leeds International Piano Competitions. He has been a soloist with many orchestras including the Saint Louis, Baltimore, Moscow and City of Birmingham Symphonies and has given recitals in many major cities. | ![]() |
Since his 1986 London debut, he has toured England several times. An active chamber musician, Mr. Barone is a member of 1807 and Friends, the Delaware Chamber Music Festival, the Academy Chamber Players, the Lenape Chamber Ensemble and Orchestra 2001. He heads the piano department and is co-director of the Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Music. Mr. Barone makes his NY debut at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall this season.
