If you want to wake up your neighbor you have come to the right place. The componets which can be found in my 87 SPG will knock your socks off. I have an Eclipse 7002 head unit, JL Audio mids and highs, PPI amps, and JL Audio W6 subs. All the work was done at Tweeter in Attleboro Ma, by the best installer that I have ever met, Eric Jennings. This is going to be my first year in competition and I hope bring some pride in car audio to Saabs.
More importantly my system goes much deeper than just brand names. It took me months of research on and off the net to find what I believed would complement my car well. (Another thanks to Eric and Phil). I opted for the Eclipse 7002 head unit due to Eclipse's very high quality of sound. Also it helped that the head unit was also a nice 5.5" screen.=0) To the Eclipse I have connected a Sony Playstation, Sega Dreamcast and Toshiba VCR. This was posed to be a problem because the Eclipse has only one video input. So I decided to impervise and I bought a VCR with dual video inputs. So everything is connected to the VCR then to the Eclipse monitor. Next I bought a decently priced amp the PPI 5440, primarily because I knew that I would spend a lot on my sub amp. For the money its the best amp that i have seen. It is 5 channels, the first four channels run the JL Audio XR series tweeters, mid bass, and mid range, while the fifth channel runs 4 JL Audio 8w0 subs for midbass. Yes, you are correct there are no rear speakers. This is primarily because there was not much room and you would not be able to hear then anyway! Now for all you bass heads, I am running a dual battery set up with SVR batteries and two stinger led monitor farad caps to run my monster amp. It is a PPI PC21400 2 channel amp. It gives out a underrated 1400x1!!!! Thats one lot of power. This amp is pushing 3 JL Audio 15w6 subs. The sound is absolutely incredible. However, its not one of those obnoxious cars that you see driving around with the trunk rattling. I dynamatted the entire trunk including the license plate so the rattle is to kept to a bare minimum and also I chose the w6 series of subs because they give a very clean and pleasant sound. So Check back often to see howI am doing in competitions and to follow the constant system updates. First Sound Off is on April 16 in Connecticut! My
