ABOUT THE WEBMASTER

"The snap of a twig could make the difference.."

Wendy Cebula has been re-enacting since 1984, portraying a soldier for all but one year. Her booklet, Clad in Uniform: Women Soldiers of the Civil War published in 1992, under the last name of King, was the first public offering to focus solely on the original Civil War women who served as soldiers. She was one of three involved in an "Accuracy in Reenacting" workshop for the 2001 Conference on Women and the Civil War, and she was accepted and involved in the filming of the movies "Gettysburg" and "Gods and Generals. She continues to research the subject and re-enact in a military role while encouraging correct interpretation from women who field as soldiers. She is also available for professional speaking engagements regarding the original women who fought in ranks and recreating that role.
