At last, my hard work has paid off. I am unable to have some sort of summary for a year.

Dates Destinations Brief summary Comments

January 17th

Rengit Forest Reserve

A typical outing, full of expectations but ended up with the Black-thighed Falconet as highlights, a matured Tiger Shrike

A day when Rengit was filled with birders and Trogon putting on display

January 20th Rengit Forest Reserve

Giving it another try, for the Rufous-winged Kingfisher and the Flycatcher, again disappointment. Highlight with Black Hornbill

Another fruitless trip.

Very good trip

January 26th Rengit Forest Reserve

It was the day I tried out my new toys, the Mp4 players. Was playing hide and seek with the Shama

January 28th Rengit Forest Reserve

A dull day as far as weather is concerned, and we were there just for the sake of an outing

Some birds

Not a bad day, spend a lot of time with the Flycatchers on the way up, Large Niltava and Crows.

Lots of pictures taken on that day, but on few varieties

February 1st Frasers Hills Resort

Fraser Hills is always full of surprises, when we least expect it, more bird pictures were allowed by nature.

Another day of Bonanza for photographers

February 7th Ampang Recreation Park

One of those days when the larger birds did not show up. Flowerpeckers, female Blue-banded Kingfisher & Striped Tit-Babbler, filled the days quota

Writing is a funny chore. have to be done while the mood is right. No report for this period.

February 13th Ampang Recreation Park

Pair of Drongo Cuckoos were specially active with both male & female B.B. Kingfishers. The female of the Ruby-cheeked was caught.

As mentioned above, the lazy bone is having the upper hand. Gone! cannot bring back the sentiments for that time

February 19th Bidor Open ex-mining fields

As usual hot day! but the water birds were out in full force

Plenty of Swamphens and Moorhens

February 21st Bidor Open ex-mining fields

No luck, it flew in and out briefly

Really despite of the hot weather, bird life was above average

Lots of raptors in the field and in good distances too. No pictures posted.

December 30th Bentong

This was a long haul trip to Kampong Ulu Dong to check out bird life.

Bird life was mediocre but Sunday crowd put off the mood for shooting.

For those of you reading through the many reports, you have not come across any mentioning of "lifer". On the contrary, the type of birds mentioned appear to be the same for almost every trip. Then I must say - first, like any one else, after having spent so much efforts in the field, I cannot deny that in a little way, I am a "Twitcher" too. I am a "number person" and I love lifers.

But watching the same birds every time is not a "bore" either. There is so much we have to learn about Birds. Even the very common Birds. Each time, some new information for ourselves. In other words, different form of interest in Birds. As basic as - "I wish I could record them in pictures, all the birds I see!". Least I know, I am watching birds and rushing to places to add on to the mounting  numbers that I have seen.
