  2. The display is physically well-constructed.

  3. The title (statement, phrase, or question) captures the viewer's attention.

  4. The overall display has visual appeal; it is neat, creative, and well-organized.

  5. Each section of the display is clearly labeled.

  6. The text is clearly written.

  7. Spelling and grammar are correct.

  8. Visual aids (tables, charts, graphs, diagrams, and photographs) are used effectively.

  9. The display is easy to understand relative to the project’s complexity.

  10. The display provides for hands-on learning.

  11. Bacteria or viruses are in sealed containers.

  12. Water or other fluids are in watertight containers.

Experiments Only

  1. The display includes a model of the experimental process.

  2. The "Conclusions" section clearly states if the experimental results do or do not support the hypothesis.

Models Only

  1. The model is skillfully constructed.

  2. The model is scientifically accurate.

  3. The model is dynamic. (The model actually works and is not just a static, non-working model.)

Collections Only

  1. The specimens are attractively displayed.

  2. The labeling of the specimens is scientifically accurate.

  3. The specimens are scientifically categorized.
