Life with Beagles

My name is Jennifer. My husband Cody and I have two beagles, Betty and Barney. Barney turned 7 years old on March 11, 2004. Betty is our little girl, born in May 2000. We got her in June 2000, at the tender age of five weeks old. She is always finding new ways to get in trouble. If she isn't snatching food or chewing underwear, then she's out in the back yard digging trenches and eating sticks, poop, and various other nasties. But we love her anyway. She is a great dog, all in all, and a constant source of entertainment. She howls at me every day when I get home from work.

Some of Betty's pictures!

Betty gnaws her paws Betty is very hungry!
"Daddy, my foot is so tasty!" "Mmmm...dinnertime!"
Betty smiles She's so serious!
"This is my cute face...and this is my smart face."
Yum yum! Sweetie pie
"I know you've got food...give it up!" "I'm so sweet and innocent!"
Sigh...being a beagle is hard work! My daddy knows how to spend a day with his girl!
Being a stinkdog is hard work! She and her Daddy are often lazy together.

Cody got Barney when he was just a little guy. He is such a mama's boy! He cries when his mama leaves for errands or work, even just taking out the trash! Barney has his own chair in the living room, and he loves spending his time there.

Barney gets his beauty sleep...and doesn't like being woken up!
Barney and pillow More pillow love!
Barney loves to gnaw on soft and smooshy things. We used to come home to drooled-on pillowcases. He kind of nursed on the pillow and kneaded it with his feet. To avoid soggy pillows, we gave him a big fuzzy teddy bear, and now he leaves the pillows alone. He drags his bear (Pookie) around the house and shows it to visitors.
Hello...I'm Barney and I'm cute! What a good lookin' boy!
Who wouldn't fall in love with a face like this?
Go 'way! I'm gonna pout now...
Barney sometimes is not in the mood for pictures.

Here's a picture from when Miss Betty Woo decided to go after some tasties in the garbage can...I heard the can knocking around outside, and when I investigated, her little head popped up from the trash. She managed to eat a whole pork chop and a bunch of Rice-A-Roni. She had a big-time bellyache for the rest of the night and was very woozy! We had to give her Pepto-Bismol, and needless to say, she didn't move or play much for a little while.

Hey, I was hungry!

If I flap hard enough, I might fly!
Betty demonstrates the ears that she is loved for.

The two dawgs have become very close.
Pssst...Hey Barney...
"Listen up, Barney...I've got a plan to get those tasties!"
