Usually a featured speaker enlightens us on a topic of interest. For instance, this year we heard from: Candy Holtzman, Travel Horizons; John Bell, Humanity for Humanity;and David Neill from the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce. In the past we have learned about historic homes in Durham, the history of Duke Gardens, how to decorate with faux finishes, and how to prepare a will in North Carolina. We have also been serenaded by the a capella group "What Next?". Some meetings we do not have a formal speaker, but stage events like a fashion show, a "one-spot" progressive dinner, or a game night. You can count on it: There is always something new to experience with the Woodcroft Women?s Club. |
