DJs Abel and Cane DJs Abel & Cane are an original act ensuring that jungle remains at the cutting edge of music in the 21st century. The pair hail from the small Welsh town of Effe-on-Wye and, having discovered jungle whilst at college in Cambridge, have combined their roots with the junglist way of life, most noticeably in their Welsh language sampling. Abel & Cane as a DJing pair use as many as four decks, constantly sample from various live sources, and experiment with new forms of scratching. This includes the O-F method, which stands for Onest-Fandaliaeth, a Welsh phrase translating as Honest Vandalism and capturing the essence of what Abel & Cane do to their decks. They like to add to the basic jungle sound with talented live instrumental players. But this is not a band, this is a pair of DJs getting the most out of their decks and mixer with the sole aim of taking their crowd on a unique journey. Jungle-wise, we are talking progressive (very progressive) F-step. Their first CD mix album, 'F-Club 74' (available to order in our shop) was released as a very limited edition locally, but they hope to go further. You can now also hear some of their new unreleased material here. This outfit has to be seen to be believed, so catch them while you can.
