ARTIST INFO:   Jungle Division

Live jungle? No decks? Surely not? Well in the wider sense of the word, this Cambridge-based fourpiece band is certainly junglist, in their sensibility and their attitude to music, not to mention the caning beats of beatmaster Thorne. Check them out while you can as they're not easy to catch.

Jungle Division began in 1999 with the sole aims of enlightening and alienating all before them. Their first gig at Rock The Catzbar was described by those who saw it as 'unique', 'original' and 'truly fucked up'. Verging on F-step, their sound is a full on assault of bizarre noises and driving beats that never even nears the accessible. By far the world's least likely band to have a chart single, they refuse to compromise themselves to any crowd, no matter how vacant or vacuous. Each band member refuses to practice the instruments they play(!), and therefore the sound produced is a true reflection of themselves and is not tainted by any preconceived norms of playing and producing. This is the secret of their inventiveness. Its freeform nature also makes it the ideal accompaniment to junglist meditation.

Gigs for Jungle Division are few and far between and so far they have officially released no material, but watch this space for news on the band as it happens.
