Junglist Meditation

"Be yourself, be a junglist meditator"

Jungle is more than just music, more than its surface of beats and bass; it is also spiritual and transcendental. This dimension of jungle music has been discovered by practitioners of junglist meditation. Although lacking the historic roots of the ways of the Buddha, this distinctive form of meditation shares many characteristics with these traditions.

So what is involved? Well, put simply, it is meditating while jungle is playing. However, this does not mean that the practitioner is listening to jungle; in fact, they are doing far more than listening. The aim is to transcend the beats and see that which is still through the crazy surface sounds of the music. This is what makes jungle, and in particular F-step, so perfect.

There are many positions one can adopt for this practice, from the traditional lotus position to the more recent lying-down-with-a-stoat-on-your-face position, but the most important thing is that the beats should be junglist, otherwise the process does not work so well.

It is also important to point out that there is no such thing as a teacher of junglist meditation, you must discover the way of the junglist for yourself. If someone in a tent at Glastonbury or Strawberry Fair should claim to have a higher knowledge, then you can rest assured that they are not true junglist meditators. The key is to try it out for yourself. Next time those rinsing beats are playing, just try to transcend them; it gives a whole new dimension to the junglist experience.

"...for the way of the junglist may be fraught with danger, but it is always open and never the truth."
