What are Venture Scouts?
Venture Scouts is the section of scouting for those aged 15½ to 20. Unlike other scouting sections for younger people, a Venture Scout Unit is run by the Unit members - the leaders role is to assist and advise but not to run the Unit. Units (should be) self-motivating, self-programming and self-disciplining. There are various awards that Unit members can choose to work to, and this includes Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
The Unit will decide what activities to run, but will normally include some adventurous stuff, mixed in with a large dose of general japery. Take a look at our programme to see what Woodpath get up to. Recently Woodpath organised an expedition to Nepal, and the Woodpath leader regularly organises bridgeswinging weekends.
If you fancy coming along to any event, just turn up. The programme will tell you when and where. If you can, it is probably best to let us know in advance, just in case we make some last minute changes. Email us: woodpathvsu@yahoo.com
