May have been buried in the Bens

May have been buried in the Bensalem Presbyterian Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.  This cemetery was reserved for Revolutionary & Civil War Soldiers.  John Boyd was neither.  He was the Captain of the Ship Superb.  The date recorded on the grave stone showed him as 38 years of age in 1805.  He would have been 8 years of age at the time of the Revolution.

He sailed from the port of Philadelphia.  His wife's family came from the Bristol area of neighboring Bucks Co., PA.  Bensalem is situated between Bristol and Philadelphia.

The photos show the small grave yard located behind the Bensalem Presbyterian Church.  The graves are old and worn.  John Boyd's grave has a Revolutionary War marker and flag placed next to it.

According to the church records, there is also an infant Boyd buried next to John's grave.  There was no stone that marked it.
