(A few hors later, Kem and the others find themselves at the edge of a forest.)

Kem: Great. Another forest. I bet this one is full of evil monsters, too.

Stardust: Yep.

Kem: Fantastic. (sarcasm)

Blossom: Don't worry about it. We'll make it through.

Kem: I know. This is just getting a little repetitive.

Kuja: Well, shall we go in?

Kem: Yeah. (looking down at her untied shoe) Great... I'll catch up with you.

Mew: Okay! Hurry!

Kem: (tying her shoe) Right.

(They enter the forest leaving Kem alone while she ties her shoes... Hmmmmm..... On the other side of the forest, 2 people we haven't seen in awhile are walking along a shady path)

Naraku: I don't like it here, Sesshomaru. It's really dark and scary.

Sesshomaru: Grow up, Naraku! It's just a stupid forest!

Naraku: But they call this place Nightmare Valley! That must mean some terrible things happen in this forest.

Sesshomaru: *sigh* You're worthless.

(Sesshomaru quickens his pace to get ahead. Naraku runs to catch up.)

Naraku: Sesshomaru?

Sesshomaru: (looking very annoyed) What?

Naraku: What is the new job Princess Serenity gave us?

Sesshomaru: We are to destroy those humans.

Naraku: That's it?

Sesshomaru: That's it.

Naraku: Well, that shouldn't take too long.

Sesshomaru: They have a sorcerer with them. And it appears that they are not your average humans.

Naraku: That's okay. They're still no match for us! Right?

(Sesshomaru doesn't answer.)

Naraku: Are- Are we- In trouble, Sesshomaru?

Sesshomaru: Just be careful.

Naraku: Wha-

(Sesshomaru continues walking at a faster pace. Naraku decides that keeping up is more important than asking questions. Meanwhile, Kem and the others have entered Nightmare Valley.)

Mew: Why does everything in your world have mean and unpleasant names?

Shimmer: It's called Nightmare Valley because lots of mean and scary creatures live in here. The kind of monsters people see in nightmares.

Kem: Why is it that we never seem to see any of these monsters? I'm getting really bored.

Kuja: We should be happy that we've been so lucky.

Mew Two: Yeah. We really don't need to ad nightmare monsters to our list of problems we have to deal with.

Kem: I guess you have a point there.

(They continue walking. No one says much of anything. After a half hour or so, Kuja stops suddenly.)

Blossom: What's wrong, Kuja?

Kuja: (looking around) Something isn't right.

Stardust: What do you mean?

(Kuja doesn't answer her question and starts walking around looking for something.)

Kem: What are you looking for, Kuja?

evil Thunder: Did you loose your hair brush? Or maybe it was one of your sparkly hair clips.

Kuja: I don't have any sparkly hair clips. Those are for girls. But that's not the point. What kind of monsters live in here?

Shimmer: Well, we're not all that certain.

Stardust: Not many people come in here, so there's no real way of knowing what exactly lives here, but I've heard stories about a shape shifting monster-

Kuja: I knew it!

(Everyone looks at him)

Kem: What are you talking about?

(Kuja looks at Kem.)

Kem: What?

(Kuja looks at her. Then he smiles. Kem looks really weirded out by this.)

Kem: Dude, what's your problem?

Kuja: You're good. It took me quite awhile to catch on to your disguise. I'm really very impressed.

Mystic: What are you talking about?

(He ignores Mystic's question.)

Kuja: Where is she? Did you already kill her?

(The others look at him. They're really confused.)

Kuja: Well?

Kem: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Kuja: Yes you do. So I'll ask again. What have you done with Kem?

(The others now look even more confused.)

Thunder: Kuja, she's right in front of you.

(He ignores what Thunder said.)

Kuja: You're going to make me kill you, aren't you? And I've been trying so hard to restrain myself...

Kem: I don't know what's wrong with you, but you've gone totally insane!

Kuja: One more chance... Where is she?

Kem: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?

Kuja: Have it your way.

(Kuja crosses his arms and turns around. Hundreds of lightning bolts rain down around Kem. The others stare at Kuja in horror as Kem falls over.)

Mew: Kuja! What did you do!?

Mystic: He killed her!

Kuja: You should be happy. If I would have let her be, she probably would have eaten us.

Thunder: (tears forming in his eyes) Kem wouldn't have eaten us!

Kuja: That isn't Kem!

(He walks over to the Kem corpse and kicks it. It changes into a big, slimy, green and blue lizard. The whole group gasps)

Mew Two: It wasn't Kem...

Blossom: Then where is she!?

Kuja: Our monster friend refused to tell me. I got angry.

evil Thunder: How are we going to find her if you killed the only thing that knows where she is!?

Kuja: Calm down. I wouldn't have killed the beast if I didn't have a plan for that.

Lightning: What's your plan?

Kuja: Well, this kind of beast, I believe it's called a morph lizard, lives near water. If we find the nearest river or stream, we'll fine Kem somewhere around it.

Mew Two: I would like to know how it got Kem while we were all here.

Blossom: Good question.

Stardust: Her shoes! When she stopped to tie her shoes, we left her alone. That must be when it got her.

Kuja: That was almost 3 hours ago. We've gone quite a long way since then.

evil Thunder: Do you think that this monster's nest is way back there?

Kuja: It's hard to say. We'll just have to find the river and follow it both ways. We should hurry. We need to find Kem before the other lizards do.

Shimmer: Okay. But which way is the river?

Mew: Let Mew Two find it! He's good at sensing things like that.

Mew Two: Okay.

(He closes his eyes and and stands there. The others wait silently for him to finish. A few minutes later, he opens his eyes.)

Mew Two: Follow me.

(He takes them down a new path that is covered by over grown trees and bushes. While they are searching for Kem, Kem is down near the river wandering down the riverbank.)

Kem: Stupid lizards! My clothes are filthy because of them. (looking around) I wonder where the others are...

(She hears a noise in the bushes. Thinking it might be more morph lizards, she runs and hides behind a big rock. Over by the rustling bushes, Sesshomaru and Naraku emerge from the woods.)

Naraku: Look, Sesshomaru! It's the river!

Sesshomaru: So it is. (sarcasm)

Naraku: I figured that if we followed the river, we would find those humans. I thought you would be happy about that.

Sesshomaru: Did you know that the more you speak, the more I want to hurt you?

Naraku: I-

Sesshomaru: Silence!

(Kem sneezes behind the rock.)

Sesshomaru: (looking to the rock) What was that?

Naraku: I'm not sure, but it sounded like a sneeze.

(Sesshomaru walks over to the rock and looks behind it. Kem smiles nervously)

Kem: Hello...

(Back with the others...)

Kuja: Are you sure you sensed it this way?

Mew Two: Positive. And I haven't ever been wrong.

Blossom: There's a first time for everything.

(Mew Two pretends he didn't hear her.)

Mew Two: (Stopping and closing his eyes) I'll try again to be certain.

(They wait for him to finish. After a minute or so, he opens his eyes.)

Mew Two: We're almost there.

Mew: Shouldn't hear it or something?

Lightning: Maybe it's a quiet river.

Kuja: I certainly hope so. For Kem's sake we can't afford to waste time going the wrong way.

(They continue walking. After 10 minutes, they reach the river.)

Mew Two: Here we are.

Kuja: Okay. Now we should spilt up and search for Kem. Lets see... There are 7 of you and 2 fairies. I'll take Blossom, Lightning, Mystic, and Stardust upstream. The rest of you follow Mew Two downstream.

(Everyone nods and goes where they were told to. We'll start with Kuja's group.)

Blossom: Do you think they've already eaten Kem, Kuja?

Kuja: I hope not, but it's really hard to say.

Stardust: How do you know so much about morph lizards?

Kuja: What kind of evil sorcerer would I be if I didn't know about all sorts of monsters? I know about these lizards because I have used them before.

Mystic: So you use other creatures to do all your dirty work?

Kuja: Of course. How often to villains of any kind ever do their own dirty work from the start?

Lightning: None. They always learn the hard way that they ought to have done it themselves.

Kuja: That's right.

Blossom: If you know that using others to do things doesn't work, why don't you just start doing things yourself?

Kuja: What fun would that be?

(Everyone shakes their head at him. Kuja just smiles and continues leading them upstream. Over in Mew Two's group...)

Shimmer: I don't know about that Kuja.... I don't feel like we can trust him.

Thunder: Why? He's been right about everything so far.

Mew Two: That's right. As seemingly creepy and untrustworthy Kuja is, he hasn't let us down yet.

Shimmer: Yet.

Mew: Really, though, what other choice do we have? Kuja is the only one of us who knows how to find Kem. He's also the only one with the power to defeat that sorceress.

Shimmer: I suppose.

evil Thunder: Don't worry about it. Kem wouldn't have asked him to help if she didn't believe he could be trusted. And Kem doesn't just trust anyone, especially if she knows they have a bad history.

Shimmer: You're right. I shouldn't be so critical when I know so little about him. I'm sorry.

Mew: That's okay. It isn't hard to understand why you wouldn't trust him.

Mew Two: Hmmmm... Do you think that if I tried to sense Kem, I could do it?

Thunder: What?

Mew Two: I found the river, didn't I? I bet I could find her, too, if I really tried.

Mew: You are so out of it.

Mew Two: Sorry. I was just thinking about Kem. I decided our trainer's safety was far more important than Kuja's trustworthiness.

Thunder: You're right. Why not try it?

Mew Two: All right.

(He stops and closes his eyes. The others try there best to be as quiet as possible. And they wait. They wait for almost 20 minutes before Mew Two opens his eyes.)

evil Thunder: Well?

Mew Two: It's faint, but I believe I may have found her.

Thunder: Where!?

Mew Two: Upstream. WAY upstream. And it felt as if she was moving.

Shimmer: Moving?

Mew: Good! That means she's still alive!

evil Thunder: Unless a morph lizard is dragging what's left of her corpse somewhere.

Mew Two: If she were dead, I wouldn't have been able to sense her life energy.

Shimmer: That makes sense.

Thunder: Should we go upstream, then?

Mew Two: Yes. If we meet Kuja and the others on the way, we can explain the situation to them.

Mew: Good idea. Lets go!

(They turn around and begin walking upstream. Up with Kuja's group...)

Kuja: I hope we find her soon. If we don't, her chances of surviving will be very small.

Blossom: Don't say that, Kuja. We have to stay positive.

Lightning: But he makes a good point. We need to hurry.

Stardust: What kind of powers do these morph lizards have? You ought to know if you're going to have to fight them.

Kuja: That is very true. The only power morph lizards actually have is the power to morph into other things. They would then use the powers of their new shape to fight.

Mystic: So if they turn into you, we have a big problem.

Kuja: Yeah.

Lightning: Imagine... A whole herd of Kujas...

(They all shudder.)

Kuja: Hey!

Blossom: Nothing personal, but an entire herd of you would be really scary.

Mystic: But it would be a very beautiful herd.

Kuja: (trying to be modest) It would, wouldn't it?

Lightning: That depends on how you define 'beauty.'

(Kuja glares at him. Blossom laughs really hard. She laughing so hard that she trips and falls into some bushes.)

Kuja: Hey! Are you okay Blossom?

(She doesn't answer. Lightning goes over to the bushes and looks at them.)

Lightning: She's gone...
