(A few miles upstream, Naraku and Sesshomaru are dragging Kem into a cave.)

Kem: YOU LET ME GO THIS INSTANT!

Sesshomaru: Be quiet or I'll kill you right now!

(Kem stops yelling.)

Sesshomaru: That's better. Throw her into the cell with the other prisoners.

Naraku: You mean those kids Princess Serenity already had locked up?

Sesshomaru: Yes.

Naraku: Okay!

(He unlocks the door and throws Kem in.)

Sesshomaru: Now sit here and behave while we go capture your friends.

Kem: You'll never get away with this!

Naraku: Sure we will!

Sesshomaru: That's right. Now, we'll be back very soon with your friends.

(Naraku and Sesshomaru leave the cave. Kem looks over to the other kids in the cell. There is a girl and a younger boy. The boy is sleeping next to the girl. The girl is smiling at Kem as if there's nothing at all wrong with the world.)

Kem: Ummmmm... Hi.

Phoebe: Hello.

Kem: They got you guys, too?

Phoebe: Serenity took me from my castle and put me here. I guess my brother here refused to leave when she gave him the chance.

Kem: Who are you?

Phoebe: I'm Phoebe. The REAL Princess Serenity. This is my brother, Jaice.

Kem: Oh! I'm Kem! I came here with my friends to help you.

Phoebe: That's good. You must be the chosen one.

Kem: That's what the fairies told me.

Phoebe: Excellent. Serenity's days are numbered.

Kem: But we're trapped here.

Phoebe: You're friends know you're kidnapped, so they'll come for you, won't they?

Kem: They don't know I'm kidnapped. Some shape shifting lizards tied me up and pretended to be me. My friends are probably taking the fake me to the Dream Palace right now.

Phoebe: Oh dear. That's not good. (pause) What's that?

(They listen. They can hear screaming.)

Kem: It's coming closer.

(Sure enough, the screaming is getting louder. Then, there's a loud crash and dust fills the air. When the dust cloud clears, a darker skinned girl with orange hair is sitting on the ground in front of the cell coughing.)

Kem: Blossom!

Blossom: *cough* Kem! Kem it's you! You're alive!

Kem: You knew I was gone?

Blossom: Yeah. Kuja killed the fake Kem. He figured out it wasn't you.

Kem: Thank goodness. Where are the others?

Blossom: I was walking along the river with them a few minutes ago when Lightning was teasing Kuja and I fell into a hole when I stopped watching where I was going because I was laughing so hard.

Kem: You came through a hole?

Blossom: Yeah. It was a tunnel and it was really slippery inside. I slid the whole way here.

Phoebe: That's odd. I wonder why such a tunnel would exist.

Kem: Maybe to get potential prisoners here faster.

Phoebe: I suppose that could be.

Blossom: Who are your friends, Kem?

Kem: this is Phoebe the REAL Princess Serenity and her brother, Jaice.

Blossom: Oh! You found Princess Serenity!?

Kem: I guess you could say that.

Blossom: Cool! Then our job is half done! All that's left now is to stop Sorceress Serenity!

Kem: We have to get out of here first. I don't know when Sesshomaru and Naraku will be back.

Blossom: Sesshomaru and Naraku?

Kem: Yeah. They found me hiding on the river bank and brought me here. They left awhile ago to find you and the others.

Blossom: Okay, then. Lets try and get you out of here before they get back.

(Blossom begins looking around for something to open the lock with. After a few minutes of searching, she finds nothing.)

Blossom: Great... (walking over to the cell door) Now what?

Kem: There has to be something you can use to pick the lock.

Blossom: (looking at the lock) I don't-

(She noticed her hand touching the lock. Her nails are very long.)

Blossom: (looking at her nails) They just might work...

Kem: Blossom?

Blossom: I'm going to try to use my finger nails to pick the lock.

Phoebe: Good idea!

(Blossom puts the nail of her index finger into the lock and moves it around. After a few minutes, they hear a click. She pulled the nail out in one piece and the cell door slides open. Kem and Phoebe walk out carrying Jaice between them.)

Blossom: Awesome! I didn't even break the nail!

Kem: Nice work, Blossom! Now lets get out of here.

(They hurry out of the cave into the forest. Phoebe leads them to a spot where the trees are very thick. They crawl into a small shelter created by several fallen trees.)

Phoebe: (lying her brother down in the corner) We should be safe here for now.

Kem: What is this place?

Phoebe: My thinking spot. It's not far from the palace, so I come here to escape sometimes.

Kem: I guess it's hard to be Princess Serenity.

Phoebe: Some days.

Blossom: How did you get the job?

Phoebe: It's hereditary. My mother was Princess Serenity before I was. I got the job when she died from a strange illness 3 years ago.

Kem: That's too bad.

Phoebe: Yeah... But she was never very healthy. She was almost always sick. So her death didn't really surprise anyone. The fairies saw it coming, too, so they began training me to take over when I was still very young.

Kem: The fairies?

Phoebe: Yeah. The fairies are the Princess Serenity's assistants. They live to serve her.

Kem: And that's how you know about the chosen one and all that stuff?

Phoebe: Yeah. I wouldn't be a very good Princess Serenity if I didn't.

Blossom: Then maybe you can explain the whole Dream Crystal thing.

Phoebe: Sure. What do you want to know?

Blossom: What is it? Why does that sorceress want it? Wh-

Phoebe: Slow down. Let me start at the beginning.

Blossom: Okay.

Phoebe: The Dream Crystal is the magical energy source the sleep plants feed off of.

Kem: The fairies told me it was the source of Princess Serenity's power.

Phoebe: Well, when you think about it, it is. Princess Serenity's only job is to use the sleep plants to bring sleep to the people in this dimension. Without that crystal, the plants can't grow, and Princess Serenity is useless.

Blossom: So all you can do is manipulate the plants?

Phoebe: That's right.

Kem: So, because the Dream Crystal allows the plants to grow, you have your powers over the plants?

Phoebe: Exactly.

Blossom: Why are you the only one who can use the plants?

Phoebe: Well, Princess Serenity is the only one who is trained to properly harness the energy of the plants. If they trained just any one to do it, the plants to cause a lot of damage.

Kem: I bet.

Blossom: Okay. So why does the sorceress want the Dream Crystal?

Phoebe: The power contained in the crystal can be used in other ways if you stop the plants from using it.

Kem: So, Serenity wants to use the power of the crystal to do something evil?

Phoebe: Yeah.

Blossom: But wait. No one seems to know where the crystal is. How are the plants still alive?

Phoebe: No matter where the crystal is, the plants can still use it's energy as long as it remains whole. If the crystal loses even a small piece, the sleep plants will die instantly.

Kem: That must mean that where ever the crystal is, it's okay.

Phoebe: Yes.

Blossom: Okay. I think I understand now.

Phoebe: Good.

Kem: I was thinking... How did the Princess Serenity of 100 years ago know to hide the crystal?

Phoebe: That was my great grandmother. She had to hide it then because Sorceress Serenity almost got it.

Blossom: How long has Serenity been after that crystal, any way?

Phoebe: 500 years or so.

Kem: Wow. That sorceress needs to get a hobby. Maybe she should take up knitting...

Blossom: (shaking her head) Okay. Did your grandmother tell anyone where she hid it?

Phoebe: All she ever told anyone was that she had left it in the care of the fairies. We suspect, however, that she gave them specific instructions about what to do with it, but she just wouldn't tell us.

Kem: Why wouldn't she tell you?

Phoebe: Well, Sorceress Serenity has been known to use spells that force people to tell her whatever she wants to know. I would guess that my grandmother never told anyone the truth to keep it safe from Serenity.

Kem: But we need to know. She had to have told someone.

Phoebe: Didn't the fairies know where it was?

Kem: No. Crystal said some fairy disappeared with it 21 years ago.

Phoebe: 21 years ago?

Kem: Yeah. Crystal said the fairy they had watching it was gone and the crystal disappeared with her.

Phoebe: Maybe...

Blossom: You thought of something?

Phoebe: There is a prophecy, but Crystal assured me that it is impossible...

Kem: What is it?

Phoebe: Well, the prophecy basically said that the power of dreams lies within destiny. It went on to says some stuff about a forest and 20 years before the day of darkness.

Kem: What's the day of darkness?

Phoebe: That was the day Serenity came and took over the palace a year ago.

Blossom: What about the spirit of destiny?

(They both look at her.)

Kem: What are you talking about?

Blossom: Didn't she say something about the spirit of destiny?

Kem: No...

Phoebe: You know about that?

Kem: You know what she's talking about?

Phoebe: Yes. I figured you would too if you were the chosen one- Oh! But Crystal said the chosen one probably wouldn't know about that yet!

Kem: I'm really confused now...

Phoebe: That's okay. I suppose now is a good a time as any to explain the spirit of destiny to you.

(So Phoebe begins explaining to Kem and Blossom what we heard Crystal tell Faith earlier. Meanwhile, Kuja, Mystic, Lightning, and Stardust are searching for Blossom near the bush she fell into.)

Lightning: Blossom!

Mystic: Where are you, Blossom!?

Kuja: (inspecting the bush) She is much larger than this bush. There is no way she could be inside it.

Lightning: (climbing into the bush) Maybe something in here swallowed her. Whoa!

(He falls in.)

Kuja: Lightning!

(Kuja climbs part way in. He sees Lightning clinging to the edge of a hole.)

Lightning: I think I know what happened to Blossom.

(Over with Mew Two's group...)

Mew Two: The others must have been moving very quickly.

Mew: Yeah. We past the spot where we split up like an hour ago.

Thunder: I hope nothing bad has happened to them.

Shimmer: Yeah.

evil Thunder: What if the morph lizards got them too?

Mew Two: Don't say things like that.

evil Thunder: What? You know that's a possibility. We don't even know how to fight those things.

Mew Two: They have Kuja with them. He must know something about fighting them.

Shimmer: Unless he really can't be trusted and sold the others out to save himself.

Mew: Stop saying stuff like that about Kuja! He's not bad!

Thunder: Are you sure?

Mew: YES!

Mew Two: Let me see if I can sense them.

(He stops and does his little "one with nature" people and water sensing deal.)

Mew: You can sense more than people and water with it.

(What ever.)

Mew Two: Stop fighting! I'm trying to concentrate.

(*sigh* Okay. Any way, Mew Two comes back to the real world after a few minutes.)

Mew Two: Well, I could sense Kuja, Lightning, Mystic, and Stardust, but I didn't sense Kem or Blossom at all.

Mew: Oh no! Do you think they're-

Mew Two: No. They're just out of range.

evil Thunder: What makes you so sure about that?

Mew Two: I just know.

evil Thunder: I don't know... If you don't feel someone's life energy, they must be-

Mew Two: That's enough. Lets go.

(They continue walking up stream. Thunder doesn't move. Mew turns around.)

Mew: Come on, Thunder.

Thunder: I don't want to.

(Mew Two stops and turns around. He sighs loudly. He's obviously not happy.)

Mew Two: What is it, Thunder?

Thunder: I don't want to go that way. If we go that way, we'll see that Kem and Blossom are-

Mew Two: (no longer trying to repress his anger) They're not dead! I told you they aren't dead! I'm not going to say anything to you that I don't mean! Now stop being such a baby and lets go! (Turning around and walking off angrily) If you're really that concerned about keeping them alive you'd hurry up so we could help them before they die. There's no sense in rescuing corpses.

(Mew and Thunder watch as the others continue watching.)

Mew: Mew Two has never yelled at anyone before... He never yells...

Thunder: *sniffle* I didn't mean to make him so angry.

(Mew Two, who hasn't walked very far, hears this and turns around. He looks at Thunder, who is about to cry. Feeling terribly guilty, he walks back to where Thunder and Mew are standing.)

Mew Two: *sigh* I'm sorry I yelled at you. I shouldn't take out my frustration on others.

Thunder: *sniffle* It's okay.

Mew Two: Will you come now? I'm sure once we go a little farther up stream, I'll be able to sense everyone and then you'll see that they're all just fine.

Thunder: *nods yes*

Mew Two: Okay then. Lets go.

(They walk ahead together. After a few minutes of walking in silence, they hear a loud splash. They look over at the river. Mystic is standing on the river bank looking at the water. Lightning is sitting in the water. Kuja is getting up behind him.)

Mew: Kuja! Lightning! Mystic!

(They look over to see the others walking towards them.)

Mystic: Hi!

Lightning: (getting out of the water) Sorry about that, Kuja.

Kuja: You're lucky I promised Kem I would behave or you would be so dead! My hair is a total nightmare and my outfit is ruined!

Mystic: I guess that's why this place is called Nightmare Valley.

(They laugh at Mystic's joke. Kuja looks like he wants to kill her.)

Stardust: What are you guys doing here?

Thunder: Mew Two tried to sense Kem and her thought she was this way.

Kuja: (wringing his hair out) So you say she's this way?

Mew Two: She was... But last I tried, I couldn't sense her any more.

evil Thunder: Speaking of that, what happened to Blossom?

Lightning: That's what we were just trying to figure out. Come here.

(he leads them to the bush)

Lightning: Look in there.

(They all look in.)

Mew: A slide!

Thunder: Fun!

Mew Two: She fell in there?

Kuja: (now wringing out his skirt) Yes. While Lightning was teasing me. That's 2 strikes, Lightning.

Lightning: I said I was sorry! I'll get you a new skirt!

Shimmer: How did you end up in the water?

Stardust: Kuja was trying to pull Lightning out of the hole and he pulled to hard causing them to fall into the river.

Kuja: Sorry. He felt heavier than he really was.

Lightning: So how is it my fault?

Kuja: You fell into the hole.

Mew Two: That's not important. Do you know where the hole goes?

Mystic: No. We were going to think of a way to figure that out after we got Lightning out.

Thunder: I have an idea! Let me slide down it!

Mew Two: How would you come back to tell us where it goes?

Thunder: I don't know...

Mew: I know! I can slide down and fly out. I can still fly, I think...

Mew Two: Even if you can't, you could always teleport.

Mew: Hmmmm....

(She teleports a few feet away.)

Mew: Yep!

Thunder: I wanna go! Teleport both of us!

Mew: Fine. We'll slide down and see where it goes.

Mew Two: Okay. Be careful. And come right back.

Thunder: (jumping in) No problem!

Mew: (Jumping in after him) We'll be back!

(They disappear into the hole.)

Lightning: What do we do till they get back?

evil Thunder: Why don't you try to sense Kem and Blossom again.

Mew Two: Okay.

(He does his people radar thing and opens his eyes again.)

Mew Two: It's faint, but they're in range again. And I think they are together.

Kuja: That's good. Now we only have to find one place.

Mystic: Can you tell how far away they are?

Mew Two: I'm afraid not. It's really hard to tell. But it appeared that they weren't alone.

Kuja: There were other people with them?

Lightning: How many?

Mew Two: 2.

Stardust: You don't happen to know who those people are, do you?

Mew Two: No. But I don't think they are bad.

Mystic: You think they're on our side?

Mew Two: Yes.

Kuja: More good news.

Lightning: Now all we need to know is where Thunder and Mew are. That will help us find Kem and Blossom.

(With Thunder and Mew...)

Thunder: That rocked! Can we do it again!? Oh! A jail cell!

Mew: No. We have to find Blossom. (looking into the cell) Hmmmm.... Not there.

Thunder: Nuh-uh. Our instructions were to find where we came out and teleport right back.

Mew: (looking around the cave) Mew Two says a lot of things. I don't often listen to him. Lets go.

Thunder: But-

Mew: Come on.

(They wander out of the cell cave and look around.)

Thunder: Wow... We must have slid a long way. This looks like we're nowhere near the river.

Mew: Yeah.

Thunder: Do you have the power to sense stuff? Maybe you can find out how far we went.

Mew: I would, but I never paid attention during that training like Mew Two did. I never got very good at it, so no, I can't.

Thunder: Damn. You should have known that not paying attention during school would come back to haunt you.

Mew: What ever. Lets go look around.

(They wander around the entrance to the cave. Mew sees something up in the mountains.)

Mew: Look, thunder! It's a palace!

Thunder: Do you think it's the Palace of Dreams?

Mew: *gasp* Maybe! Oh! Mew Two will be so proud of us if we tell him we found that!

Thunder: Are we going to go back, then?

Mew: I will! You wait right here.

Thunder: Mew!

(She teleports away.)

Thunder: I don't like to be alone...

(Poor Thunder.... Not to far from where Thunder is, Kem and Blossom are still talking to Phoebe.)

Phoebe: ... so the chosen one is the person with the proper knowledge to lead the spirit of destiny, who will defeat Serenity.

Kem: Okay. But who is the person I'm leading?

Jaice: (muttering in his sleep) The charmander...

(They look over to him.)

Phoebe: (gently poking her brother's shoulder) Jaice?

Jaice: (talking in his sleep) The baby charmander...

Phoebe: Jaice. Wake up, Jaice!

Jaice: (rubbing his eyes) *yawn* Hi.

Phoebe: What are you talking about, Jaice?

Jaice: What?

Phoebe: You said something about a baby charmander.

Jaice: What's a charmander?

Phoebe: I'm not sure.

Blossom: It's Pokémon. From our world.

Jaice: I don't- My dream! An orange lizard thing! Is that a charmander? It had a flaming tail!

Blossom: That's right.

Kem: (digging in her purse) I have a picture... Here!

(She pulls out a picture of herself holding a charmander)

Jaice: That one!

Phoebe: What about it?

Jaice: That's the one in my dream!

Blossom: That's me. When I was little.

(Phoebe and Jaice look at her)

Kem: She's not really human. Your sleep spores have a side effect that make Pokémon human.

Jaice: That's you?

Blossom: Yes. Before I evolved.

Jaice: I've seen that lizard in my dreams before but I never knew what it was.

Phoebe: Well, you called it a charmander in your sleep.

Jaice: So it's a charmander. And it's you?

Blossom: Yes. That's me when Kem got me. I was actually pretty old at that point. I was a little bit of a runt before I evolved.

Phoebe: You've had that dream before?

Jaice: Ever since grandma Phoebe died.

Kem: Grandma Phoebe?

Phoebe: That was our great grandmother. She took care of us after that illness killed our mother and grandmother.

Kem: Your great grandmother outlived your mom and grandma?

Phoebe: Yes. You see, she was only half human, so she lived quite a bit longer than most humans do.

Kem: What was she?

Phoebe: Her mother was a sorceress like Serenity. In fact, Serenity was her sister.

Kem: So Serenity is your great grandmother's aunt?

Phoebe: Yes.

Blossom: But wouldn't that make your mother and grandmother only part human too?

Phoebe: They were human enough that they didn't have the genes that make magical people live longer. And the illness they had was pretty bad. It would have killed anyone.

Kem: So you aren't going to be immortal or anything like that either?

Phoebe: Nope. Our dad was human. We have hardly any of that sorcerer's blood left in us at all.

Jaice: Too bad. It would have been neat to be able to be a sorcerer.

Phoebe: You have more than enough special powers as it is. Like that dream thing. Why did grandma's death make you have those dreams?

Blossom: Why were those dreams about me?

Kem: Maybe your grandmother told Jaice something without him knowing it!

Jaice: Why would she tell me and not Phoebe?

Phoebe: Because Serenity would never think you to know anything important! Kem, you're brilliant!

Jaice: Hey!

Blossom: What do you think she told him?

Phoebe: Jaice, do you remember grandma telling you anything strange or out of the ordinary?

Jaice: I don't think so... No.

Phoebe: Wait! I bet you can only recall it while you're asleep! Grandma must have put the information in a dream!

Kem: Go to sleep, Jaice!

Jaice: But I'm not tired!

Phoebe: Allow me.

(She takes a little bag out of the pocket of her dress. Inside is a flower. She brushes some of the flower's pollen onto Jaice. He falls asleep.)

Kem: Was that part of a sleep plant?

Phoebe: (leaning Jaice against a tree) Yep. Now.... (She puts her ands on his forehead) ... I can see what he's dreaming about.

(She sits there with her hands on his head. She stays that way for 15 or 20 minutes. Then she takes her hands away and turns to Kem and Blossom.)

Phoebe: It's so simple.

Kem: You figured it out?

Phoebe: Yep.

Blossom: What is it?

Phoebe: It was you.
