| Amanda Sept. 14, 2001 Hour 6th In the two stories, ?The Pedestrian? written by Ray Bradbury and ?The Cold Equation? written by Tom Goldwin human freedom is restricted because of technology. In ?The Cold Equation? Tom is talking about a girl named Marilyn who went to find her brother. She was not suppose to be on the ship because there was not enough fuel for more then one person. When the pilot found out that she was aboard, he had to jettison her out into space to die. The captain did not want to do that, but technology overruled his emotions. In ?The Pedestrian? Ray is talking about a man, Leonard Mead, who went on daily walks, but one day he was no longer aloud to do so because of technology. Technology stopped him from going on walks |
