Action Comics ran the Superman comic strip in 1938, which later resulted in Superman comic books. The superhero of this strip was born out of a telephone booth occupied just seconds before by Clark Kent. From a shirt, suit and tie to a mass of muscle streaking across the sky, Superman became an icon of immeasurable reknown. His were the good deeds, unlike those of today's creation by the name of Fleshman. Though Fleshman can be seen in a shirt, tie, and suit, his telephone booth where instantaneous changes occur is not only under that suit, but inside that body. In effect, the flesh of the body makes the changing room. More specifically, all changes occur inside the head.
Fleshman reigns as a quickchange artist. Though Clark Kent converted to Superman, anybody can convert to Fleshman. O, but Fleshman for a time lives as an antagonist buried deep within the chambers of the heart. Once broken out of the oubliette of that heart, sometimes skipping past the changing room / buffer zone of the head, Fleshman can snarl, snap, bite, fight, tongue lash, soul bash, and the list multiplies. In short, when Fleshman surfaces, we see the nefarious antithesis of the person otherwise known. But nobody, not even Lois Lane equivalent knows until Fleshman manifests. Unbeknownst to him or her, Fleshman still thinks he or she moves faster than the eye of God.
Not to worry. One does not a Fleshman become overnight. Insinuated into the walls of the heart a seed's tiny rootlets penetrate to begin an impure heart. These tentacles grow stronger each time certain improprieties take place. Ever strengthening, and left unpruned, these filaments can grow into mighty roots to one day bear undesirable fruit. Over time, instead of seeing the fruit of the Holy Spirit, one or two or maybe a few of the fruit of the unholy spirit will spring from a tree destined to a lost eternity -- that is, if no changes are incurred. Romans 8:8 says, "...they that are in the flesh cannot please God." Initially, on the road to becoming a full-fledged antihero Fleshman, a danger lurks. Instead of becoming a new creature in Christ, Fleshman becomes unable to reconvert to servitude to Christ. As a result, for Fleshman, the future could be grim. Romans 8:5 says, "...to be carnally minded is death..." Romans 8:9 tells us that, "If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." It goes without saying then that a true Fleshman is of "his or her father the devil" as John 8:44 states.
Hope for us all can be found in Galatians 6:8. It says, "...he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." In order that one receive life everlasting, Romans 13:14 says we must, "... put on the Lord Jesus Christ," and from Galatians 5:16 we are told to, "Walk in the Spirit..." To do that Romans 10:13 says, "...whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Why not change from a Fleshman to a Spiritman today?
