As you know, (1) DNA is the building block for a person's entire genetic makeup; (2) each cell in a person's body contains the same genetic code; and (3) this code determines how a person's characteristics are passed from one generation to the next. Moreover, each person's DNA is different from every other individual's, except for identical twins. All of the DNA contained on the 23 pairs of chromosomes contains some 80 thousand genes. While each gene constitutes a unit of heriditary information, all of the genetic information make up the human being. No matter arguments to the contrary, although cloning would provide another you genetically, rest asssured, there will really never be another you.
What we look like, regardless of fine-tuned debates, is our creator God. Genesis 1:27 says, "God created man in his own image." Further to that, we, at least our forefathers of some 2000 years ago, were provided with an opportunity to have a bird's eye view of God. Better yet, Mary became blessed to carry God in the form of his Son in her womb. In the raising of her child she would have been the one to look most often into the eyes of God. Confirming that God created man in his own image, God created his son Jesus as well in his very likeness.
At this point, there is some DNA to be discussed here. Matthew 1:18 tells us that Mary "was found with child of the Holy Spirit." The angel of the Lord told Joseph "that which is conceived in her (Mary) is of the Holy Spirit" (Mt. 1:20). However else any of this might be explained, as humans we understand that Mary's DNA combined with the Lord's DNA to create Jesus. Perhaps this might explain genetically just how unique Jesus was. As well as there will never be another you, there will never be another Jesus. John 3:16 tells us that God "gave his only begotten Son so that whosoever would beleive in him would have everlasting life." Though our DNA can be replicated, never would that of Jesus be replicable.
For certain no DNA sample of Christ survived the last 2000 years; nonetheless, had there been one, today that sample could be analyzed. Even though Christ is risen, he shed his blood -- in which we have our redemptionon (Col. 1:14) -- on the lowly soil of this earth. That blood sample could tell ua all. Although DNA material can be found on evidence that is decades old, environmental factors (e.g., heat, sunlight, moisture, bacteria, and mold), would have had ample time to destroy that of Christ's. Up to this point, man has learned that God not only created man in his image, he created his only son in that same image as well.
As it happens, when any person believes in Christ in accordance with John 14:6, "he (Jesus)sets his seal of ownership on them, and puts his Spirit in their hearts as a deposit." As this happens, a person becomes indwelt by the Holy Spirit until his/her day of redemption (Eph. 4:30). Immediately as one becomes a new creature in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17), he then possesses the spiritual DNA of God. It is one thing to be born, and being created in God's image, as that gives all mankind life and each one his uniqueness. It is quite another thing too be born again in Christ and to possess the spiritual DNA of God himself. Those who do become his children in eternal life. http://www. geocities. Com/ baba labean.
