I DANCE

With the naked eye you may not see me. In your heart I can be as clear as a pure stream of water. Always look with your heart. I am a dancer. Everyone should know the joy of dancing. I am not of leg, arm or human form, but nonetheless I dance.

I move randomly across my world. I am the fluffy round wild thing that is blown upon with wishes made first, by children of all ages. My seeds scatter across the earth so more children may smile and know the hope of dreaming.

I am the energy in small children's legs as they run, explore and eagerly acquaint themselves with the world. I am that still small thing that slows their growth that they may remain children yet a while.

I am the unexpected breeze that comes to sooth a weathered and weary cheek, to kiss a worry wrinkle meant to age the faces of mankind. I dance to bring comfort.

I am the gnarled body of an old man and woman, who grip their hands tight, holding each other against the future and struggling against memories of the past. I am the dance within their minds of all the moments that went so swiftly. I try to do a gentle dance of great pleasure. Sometimes I succeed but only when I am allowed to do that.

I am the giant redwood of shallow root that lean against brother trees for support, while spreading upward to greet the heavens. I am all trees.

I am the color of all mankind and my movements sometimes resemble a tragic dance, but with understanding can be a dance of great beauty. Again I can only be seen to dance if viewed from the heart.

I am every particle of salt within the oceans that surround earth. I am the thunder within its waves and power within its depths. I am the protector of all that lives within. I am the thing that brings joy to those who brave my waters to swim in, or who boat upon me. I dance in water of many colors all over the world.

I am all the roads ever traveled and all the skies and clouds ever seen. I am a ballerina at times and other times, dance in a less graceful manner. Sometimes I dance in a sheer joy of simplicity for its multiple rewards.

I lift above myself sometimes, in preparation of that great and wondrous day, when I will dance the greatest dance of all, in humbleness before the throne ~ ~ of God.

I am a dancer. Open your heart and dance with me.
