When you are dieting, it is a must that you workout your muscles. When you lose weight you lose a lot of muscle also. If you lift while you are following your diet you should keep the muscle you have and even possibly grow more muscles. I could see why a lot of serious lifters want and need to lose weight, but if they do they think they will lose their muscle too so they dont lose, they continue to stay fat.. If you don’t workout and only do cardio while dieting, you will lose weight but alot of the weight loss will be muscle. When you are dieting you need to do cardio. Examples of cardio are jogging, walking fast, swimming, jump rope, and biking. Anything that is a continuous movement for a period of time, is cardio. Jogging and walking fast is better for burning calories of fat then sprinting is. The slower and longer you go the better the fat lose will be. Lifting weights can also be a benefit to your metabolism. The bigger your muscles the better your metabolism is. That means you will burn more calories then you would with the same activity and same time without a fast metabolism. Of course when dieting you need to lower your calorie intake, to a minimum low of 1500 a day, but I would suggest 2000 calories a day with about 40-60 minutes of cardio. Thats what I did every day during the summer and I lost 25 lb. in 2 months. It was not really that hard. I went down to 1500 calories, (yes I did lose muscle but not much and easily gained it back in two weeks, but if I did the weight loss thing again Id go 2000 calories). I drank alot of water, jogged for 20 min, then rode my bike over to my friends house 2 miles away. I did this every weekday. On the weekend I was too lazy to ride my bike over, thats what a car if for. I could have lost alot more but I would have had to work harder. A tip to help you lose weight, is to get out of the kitchen. Never spend time in the kitchen unless you are eating your meals or cleaning. Dont watch TV in the Kitchen, because when a food commercial comes on, you start to take the 5 step walk to the fridge and binge on food. That bad and can easily lead to hundreds even thousands of unwanted caloies Another tip: Dont get bored, do something. I went to my friends house where I received no food from the weak dude. I went 4-6 hours without eating there. If I was home I would have gone 2-3 hours without food. And its better to exercise with friends. It gets boring by yourself. Go back to my homepage |
