Press Modifications

Presses sometimes need to be adapted depending on how the artist uses it.
Perhaps the artist wants to print images larger than the presses current bed
size, the artist then needs to have a longer bed made.

Here are some images of a press that I modified by extending the pressbed support arms to better support the artists 8' pressbed
	When modifying a press I feel it is a good practice to use "ready made" parts where possible this image shows the bed support wheel which is a 5" castor, available at many stores. This part can be easily replaced if need be by the press owner.

	The press owner also wanted to motorize the press. This is another option for printmakers, lets face it we aren't getting younger and with a motorized press you are able to print more without getting tired.
We also decided to make a clutch system that allowed him to print manually using the captians wheel or using the motor.
