MILITARY HISTORY- WWI- This site contains an excellent index to informational sites about the Great War of 1914-18.

TRENCHES ON THE WEB- The premier website about the Great War itself. Includes links to The Great War Society. Also note- the military technology available to the nations are represented mainly here.

FIRST WORLD WAR.ORG- The chief competitor to "Trenches", in the matter of coolness.

SPARTACUS ENCYCLOPEDIA- Has a very nice little section on WWI. A good, quick numerical primer.

WWI DOCUMENT ARCHIVE- Contains a massive listing of documents from the era, including the text of the infamous Treaties of Versailles, Neuilly, Trianon, Sèvres, Lausanne and Germany's allowed military by means of the Treaty. This is an essential collection for players.

FORBIDDEN WWI IMAGES- Contains a number of censored photos from the Great War, come to light.

INTERWAR BALKAN STATES - Information and readings on the "Powderkeg of Europe"- the former Ottoman territories known collectively as the Balkans.

MILITARY THOUGHT DURING THE INTERWAR YEARS

US PURSUIT AIRCRAFT VIRTUAL GALLERY- A USAF-run historical site with information and pictures from the earliest days of the US Army Air Force.

MILITARY AIRCRAFT DATABASE - A fairly-inclusive data repository of all forms of military aircraft, from their earliest uses in the Great War, up to the present day.

NAVAL HISTORY.NET- Contains a great deal of data from WWI, WWII and the interwar years.

WARSHIPS OF THE WORLD-

COMANDO SUPREMO- Details of Italy's WWII efforts, prior to the fall to the Allied Powers. Notable for the purpose of AoA is the pre-war section, which includes some interersting details about the near-miss of 1934, when Germany and Italy almost went to war, over Austria.

ACHTUNG! PANZER!- A very nice, detailed site; notable for it's information regarding tanks developments during the Great War and Interwar years. Hard-to-find material on the web, to be sure.

GENERAL NATIONAL INFORMATION

LIBRARY OF CONGRESS COUNTRY STUDIES - An excellent historical resource for the world's nations; though it does focus on the "lesser known" nations, at the expense of those that are better covered in traditional scope sources.
