The Grant-Writing Process 

Proposal Writing (The Foundation Center Online): This site is a short course on proposal writing. The process described is not a formula to be rigidly adhered to. Rather, it is a suggested approach that ca be adapted to fit the needs of any nonprofit and the peculiarities of each situation.

Carnegie Corporation Grants

The Dana Foundation Education Grants: The Foundation's current commitment is to the spread of well-tested innovations that have the potential to strengthen education in American public schools, especially for students in the early years of education. Many of these innovative ideas will be identified through the annual Charles A. Dana Awards for Pioneering Achievements in Education.

Spencer Foundation: "The Foundation has as its primary mission, by the intent of its founder, "to investigate ways in which education can be improved, around the world." To achieve this goal, the Foundation is committed to supporting high quality investigation of education through its research programs and to strengthening and renewing the educational research community through fellowship programs and related activities."

Teacher Research Grants

Practitioner Research Communication and Mentoring Grants: The Practitioner Research Communication and Mentoring Grants from the Spencer Foundation are intended to support the development of strong communities of teacher researchers. In general, grants range from $2,000 to $15,000 annually. 

Math and Science Grants

Scientific American Educator Grants: This site lists and describes a number of grants opportunities for science teacher of all grades.

Toshiba America Foundation Grants: The Toshiba America Foundation is an American, privately endowed, not-for-profit, grant-making organization, dedicated to supporting education programs and activities in the United States. Toshiba invests in projects designed by classroom teachers to improve science and science-related education for students in grades 7-12. The Toshiba America Foundation is most interested in encouraging programs, projects and activities related to improvements in the classroom teaching of science, mathematics and technology. Teachers should be sure to request guidelines from the Foundation before proceeding with applying for grants.

Collaborative teams of AASL members and classroom teachers can apply for one of the five $1000 ICPrizes awarded annually that encourage the use of Internet resources to develop meaningful curriculum connections.

U. S. Department of Education Technology Innovation Challenge Grant

ATT Foundation Grants: AT&T Foundation concentrates on the role of technology in education and its capacity to connect students, teachers, classrooms, institutions and communities. The AT&T Learning Network Grants Program provides funding to projects which demonstrate effective and innovative uses of technology in supporting families, schoolsand communities to accomplish the following: encourage family involvement in education; provide professional development opportunities for educators and assist in the preparation of future teachers; and develop and implement plans to promote lifelong learning and community collaboration.
