| History- Starcraft Gateway was started by Canada^|3io in 1998. It is one of the original, and very popular starcraft sites and preceded SCFreak, SCLegacy, and SC.org. Recieving over 1,000,000 hits a month it was the #1 starcraft site of it's time. Updated daily, having a great staff, and great fans, it was popular and known to everyone who played on B.net. In the summer of 2001 Abused1 of SCFreak.com bought StarcraftGateway.com for 900$ and then SCFreak.com became very popular because of the StarcraftGateway.com redirection to SCFreak.com. Fall 2001, after already being a fan of StarcraftGateway.com, being in the same clan, and knowing Canada^|3io, Stinky, I, made a site of my own. Hosted by geocities I tried to bring more content than anyother Starcraft site on the net hoping that it would bring me big hits. Calling this site SCGamerz I felt that it would be an instant hit. It wasn't. Seeing that I lacked good hosting, a staff, and a good layout I spent 108.24 on a host, and got local friends and Starcraft buddies to help me with the site. SCGamerz.com would be the URL..but then the SCG hosting wouldn't give SCGamerz service, and 108.24 was lost. By late February, Early March, we got permission to use the StarcraftGateway name by Abused1, and Canada^|3io. We slaped up a whole new layout and started a rigerous ad campaign. Added over 50 new pages of content to the site, and waited. It wasn't until June 2002 that real results started. We went from about 6 unique visitors in January to about 100 a day. The rebirth of SCGateway was sucessful and we'll keep on updateing as long as Starcraft is popular.
