*OBSERVING  HALLEY*

Although  not  as  bright  as  on  previous  visit , Halley's  comet  was  visible  from  earth  when  it  made  its  recent  appearance  in  the summer  of  1985-1986 . Taken  through  the Schmidt  telescope  in  Great Britain , even  this  high  speed  photograph  makes  the  stars  appear  to  be  streaks  of  light . the  tail  streams  out  behind  the  core  of  the  comet.
