SEEING  INTO  THE  GREAT  VOID

The  ANDROMEDA Galaxy , a  spiral  galaxy  like  our  own  Milky Way , can  be  seen  with  the  naked  eye  as  a  faint  patch  in  the  sky , yet  it  is 2.2 million light years  away . This  distance  is  about  one twenty - thousandth  the  diameter  of  the  visible  Universe .
