Have one of your mercs walk a longer distance than
his/her action points will allow (like 80 or so).
Watch the merc's action points as they decrease.
When the merc's action points get below the amount
usually needed to shoot (but _not_ to zero), right
click on their picture to spin it around and get the
three buttons.
Click on the "reserve points" button (I believe it
has to be unchecked before this little cheat is attempted).
Then right click on the picture again to spin it back around.
The merc will continue walking (as usual), but he/she will
walk _all_ the way to wherever you told him/her to go, with
absolutely no regard for action points.
A nice way to get out of range of that sniper.

Disclaimer: This article is going to be part Hot Hints,
part Dirty Tricks...
With this cheat you can change any object into any other
object that you happen to have around. If, for example,
you wanted to get another grenade, you would have to get
to where you can buy and sell stuff. (In the demo this
would be at Jakes Junkyard) Click on the grenade and then
click on something you don't mind losing (e,g, a .45 clip).
Click on the .45 clip again (your mouse cursor should
become a .45 clip) and then click where the grenade was.
The .45 clip becomes a grenade. Put the grenade in an
empty spot and then take the first grenade down from the
selling list.
You should now have two grenades and minus one .45 clips.
It does not have to be a .45 clip or grenade. It should
work for anything.
I don't know how this would work in the complete version.
Here's another one:
Irritated with having to haggle with useless civ's?
Want a better way? Any time you meet anyone who will
sell you something (in the demo, that would be Jake),
just execute them. That way, you get all their items for
free, and any weapons they might have on their person.
Just make sure you get them in one blast though, because
many civ's (especially Jake) don't take to kindly to
being mugged.

GameTips
--------
Tip 1:
------
Your first priority is to establish a financial
base--seize the first mine at Drassen as soon as
possible. To this end, it is worth your money to
blow $10,000 to $15,000 on a top-of-the-line
mercenary on a one-day contract. Choose someone
with a long-range rifle and excellent marksmanship.
Remember, you get to keep his equipment at the end
of the day.
Tip 2:
------
Don't forget--to get a mine to produce money for
you, you must find the mine foreman and make him
happy. Seizing the town the mine is in is not enough.
Tip 3:
------
Do not seek out combat with government patrols until
you have stocked up on long-range weapons. Also, any
group of more than four or five enemy soldiers will
split up and flank your position, so prepare your
own ambush.

Tip 1:
------
Never send just one plane anywhere; fights will be better
if you send a pair of fighters, even when identifying
unknown craft.
Tip 2:
------
Lead your air assaults with HARM missile-equipped planes.
These missiles hone in on the enemy's active radar, taking
it out and shutting down the enemy's air defense.
Tip 3:
------
Years ago, the U.S. Navy taught its tactical-action officers
(the folks in charge of employing a ship's weapons) to "shoot,
shoot, look." You should do the same. Fire two missiles at
any incoming target. Wait to see the result, and then fire
again if necessary.
Tip 4:
------
Swarm. Don't attack with a Harpoon here, a Maverick there;
hit the bad guys with everything you have. There is a much
greater chance of destroying your target if you swamp its
defenses.
Tip 5:
------
Stay cool. Don't use your radar or activate sonar until you
are in battle; otherwise, you'll give your position away.
If necessary, send a ship (called the picket ship) ahead of
your task force. Order this ship to light off its radar.
Hopefully, it will discover the waiting enemy; of course,
it might also discover ten cruise missiles headed its way--
but hey, life's full of little surprises.

Hint 1:
-------
Due to the pervasive record-keeping nature of the game's
Pilot Feedback System, you should create a second "test pilot"
as a guinea pig for dodgy missions or experimental flights.
This way, your primary on-screen persona can advance through
the ranks more quickly and not have to make up for the
thousands of negative points that failed missions and
destroyed aircraft can generate (even in Training mode).
Hint 2:
-------
When entering into a furball with a flight of enemy planes,
use your wingmen as much as possible. By issuing regular
commands such as "engage the other one" or "protect me,"
you will carve out a little more flying room for yourself
and shouldn't see quite as many inbound missiles with your
name on them.
Hint 3:
-------
Conversely, when designing missions from the Quick Mission Editor
or the separate Mission Builder utility, you should have your
multiship flights start in the air. The AI wingman pilots are
highly prone to crashing into one another on the taxiways when
you start them on the ground.

GameTips
--------
Tip 1:
------
Adjust the steering sensitivity slider hard over to the right
(tighter steering) for quicker response. The cars need to be
dirt-tracked (pitched sideways in a turn) in order to turn
quick times, and slow steering response will hamper your
ability to do this.
Tip 2:
------
Don't use the brakes. Ever. You can toss the car into any
corner and hold it off the wall just by lifting off the
throttle and slamming full lock into the steering wheel.
(Brakes will just slow you down).
Tip 3:
------
Pay close attention to the car number icons that appear at
the bottom of the screen when AI drivers are closely pursuing
you.
The icon's position on the screen indicates on which side the
opposing car is attempting to pass. This will often give you
time to move over and block. With no rearview mirror or
look-back button, it's the only clue you'll ever get to fend
off attacks from the rear.
Tip 4:
------
If you encounter regular pauses in the game, turning off the
background music might help. These stutters are often due to
the game switching redbook audio tracks on the game CD.

In the park level, follow the road from the start. Walk up
to the second fountain you come to. Go left and follow the
road come to until you see a statue on the right that looks
like a woman holding a long piece of paper. Tail whip it 3
times. Each time you hit it it should go a little off balance.
After 3 hits, it should fall over and a life will pop out.
Mini FAQ:
---------
1. In the underground caves level, the 2nd hostage is near the
end after the letter f, on the left. There's a grating there
   that needs to be hit.
2. In the crypt, the first hostage is in Sebastos room, when you
enter, you have to stay on the outer boards and fall straight
down to land on platforms. The second hostage is in Obert's
room and is in the first destroyable wall, where there are 2
crates of dynamite. If you hit the wall it will try to break
but can only be done with dynamite. Once inside, the only way
I was able to free the hostage was to hit the attack button
and jump button at about the same time so that he's spinning
on the way up, it may take a while to get it.
3. In the first toxic dump level, the best way to do it is jump
from the pipes to the first moving platform, then to the pipes,
then fly to the next pipes, then wait for the platform to come
back and jump on it and then the platform moving up and down,
and then to the higher pipes. Best way to hitmoving platforms
is to time them and then count it off and jump.
4. When in doubt as to weather to jump or fly, jump. Flying usually
isn't neccessary, though at times it definitely is.
5. Trick to getting all the boxes in the haunted house is when it
sends you outside again at the back door, go in the front door
without saving andall the boxes will be reset but your count
will be the same (requires gameshark code for getting all the
    letters).
Note: The game shark code for allboxes does not allow you to
count down so if you use it you won't be able to destroy the
    labs.

Go to the tree level in the park. When you get to the bottom of
the slide on the floor there will be a "p08" sign on the floor
(your as to be at 8 for this to work). And just jump on it.
Next, in the graveyard level go to the water and jump on the
platform. When you get across there's a block with "p05" just
push it and walk in the cave.
Then, in the factory level go straight when you get in the level.
There's a pipe with "p07" on it. Hit it and go in.
Lastly, go to the sea port level and go to the lifeboat and when
the lifeboat goes down turn the camera in towards the wall and on
the wall is "p09" whip it and you're in.

GameTips
--------
Tip 1:
------
The Nicklaus mouse swing is different from any
other mouse swing. First of all, you can move the
mouse in any direction you wish without worrying
about perfectly retracing the path of the backswing
on the downstroke.
Tip 2:
------
The intention of the game developers is that
you move the mouse in one direction for backswing
(power), taking care to stop at or near the top
when the swing meter's flow indicator passes by
the "perfect power mark." You are then supposed
to move the mouse in the opposite direction,
clicking it when the flow indicator has dropped
back down to the "perfect direction mark." The
catch is that the game removes some of the power
you initially created for each extra millisecond
you take trying to hit that perfect direction mark
on the downstroke.
Tip 3:
------
The cheating solution? Well, for starters,
completely ignore that top power mark. Take the
backswing back as far as the meter will go, right
to the end of the "overswing" territory. This will
give you at least one more precious second on the
way down to try to hit the direction mark perfectly.
Second, move the mouse really quickly on the way
down until you get relatively close to the direction
mark, slow it at the last moment, fine-tune it to the
mark, then let go of the button. If all goes as
planned, you'll have had enough time to click exactly
on the direction mark while incurring only enough
penalty time to affect the amount of overswing--your
swing power will still be right up there at ideal
speed or, with any luck, will be even harder.
You can regularly nail arrow-straight drives of 270-plus
yards using this method.
Tip 4:
------
Go into the golfer edit screen and select a Fast,
but not Very Fast (it's just too quick), meter speed.
This will allow you to bestow more skill points to your
golfer, while the extra meter speed should be of little
concern if you follow the first tip above.
Tip 5:
------
In Nicklaus 6, the orientation of golfer to ball
at the moment of impact is crucial. If that ball sits
lower than your feet, the slices can be absolutely
horrific. Adjust your stance and approach accordingly.
Tip 6:
------
When putting, use the aiming arrow to increase
the potential power of your attempt. The game doesn't
give you enough oomph by default.
